Clear-cut winner over 1m6f at Chelmsford in November, but went up 6lb and was well beaten over the same C&D earlier this month. Drops in trip and is 1lb lower, but needs to bounce back.
Sixth of 10 behind a subsequent winner over 2m at this venue last time, having previously run reasonably over this trip at Wolverhampton. More needed off falling mark.
C&D winner for Alan Bailey last April, but has finished out of the frame in two starts for current trainer. Only 3lb higher than when last successful so not out of it if returning to her best.
Off the mark over this trip at Wolverhampton last month after which he went up 4lb to this rating and finished a creditable second of 13 over this C&D. Finished well that day and may have more to give.
Unplaced in five starts on the Flat and three over hurdles. Mid-division over 1m at this course earlier this month and may do better stepped up in trip off 3lb lower.
Returning from a break when a distant fifth of 11 over 1m6f at Chelmsford recently. Has been dropped 2lb and should be sharper this time.
Still a maiden after 15 starts, but has produced a series of creditable displays, mainly at this track. Only a matter of time before he opens his account off this sort of mark.
Experienced campaigner who was not at his best towards the end of last year. Rating continues to fall, but it's a long time since he got his head in front.
Veteran who failed to beat a rival when last seen over 2m at Lingfield last month. On a long, losing sequence and looks an outsider in this contest.
First placing in seven starts when third of 13, beaten only ½L, when third over C&D a week ago, just behind Ember's Glow. Well backed that day and looks sure to continue to improve with so few miles on the clock. Cheekpieces applied.
Scored for the first time when winning a C&D handicap in February, 2017. Only subsequent run was over 2m at this venue in June of that year so has presumably had a few problems.
Big prices and beaten a long way in three runs in novice/maiden company. First run in a handicap and is worth keeping an eye on for market support.
Nine-race maiden who produced arguably his best effort so far when second of 14 in a classified event over C&D eight days ago. Bit more needed, but further improvement cannot be ruled out.
Maiden after 21 starts, but last two efforts have been perfectly acceptable. Latest C&D third off this mark gives him each-way claims.
Forecasts
Singing The Blues (5/2), Ember's Glow (3/1), Harry Callahan (6/1), Bird For Life (8/1), Arlecchino's Arc (10/1), Lady Of York (12/1), Caracas (16/1), Banta Bay (20/1), Tyrsal (33/1), Affair (33/1), Gracie Stansfield (40/1), Tractive Effort (50/1), Slowfoot (66/1), Sargento (66/1)
Arlecchino's Arc will surely find a race at some stage, but this is competitive and the selection is SINGING THE BLUES, who was just behind Ember's Glow over C&D last time and may be able to turn the tables in first-time cheekpieces. Harry Callahan shaped well over C&D recently and seems to be improving, while others to enter calculations include Banta Bay and Lady Of York.
- Singing The Blues
- Ember's Glow
- Harry Callahan
