Won a nursery at Naas (5f, good) in September but quickly lost her way since. Two starts for her current yard suggest the filly is on a stiff mark at present. Others make more appeal on these terms.
Versatile but not raced over the minimum distance since his debut run at Goodwood last May; and not receiving any help from the handicapper at present either. Acts well at this course but probable the return to a longer trip will be more suitable.
Unexposed on the AW and the drop back to 5f isn't expected to be too much of an issue. Yard going well and has to be respected on her Tapeta debut. (Likes to race with the pace.)
Impressed in his first couple of starts but well held when last seen in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot; been gelded since. and feasible there's more to come. The long absence has to be a concern though.
Generally done well since contesting handicaps and ran well over C&D last time out. Up 1lb here but consistent enough to suggest he can cope with the latest rise. Worth considering.
Winner of two of her three starts so far and has to be a positive sign that she's already handled the surface at Wolverhampton well. Open to further progress and likely to be thereabouts again if the filly takes another step forward.
Previous C&D winner that has thrived since joining her in-form yard; and is 4lb better off with Rock Bottom from last Thursday's encounter at Kempton. Cannot be discounted in this company; shortlisted.
Consistent despite being well held in three starts prior to his last time out win over 5f at Southwell. Debuts in a handicap on a fair mark and reasonable to expect more to come. Gets on well with the rider, whose 7lb claim is a handy tool.
Improved in her last two starts, the latest of which resulted in a full stone hike in the ratings after defeating an 81-rated rival. Possible that form may prove to be suspect though. The betting can guide.
Forecasts
Lorna Cole (3/1), Uncle Jerry (7/2), Sandridge Lad (6/1), Kapono (7/1), Annabelle Rock (8/1), Wedding Date (10/1), Dragon Beat (10/1), Scale Force (10/1), Yolo Again (14/1)
The improving LORNA COLE looks a progressive type for a race of this nature and is fancied to capitalise on a handy draw (3), which will help her latch onto the early pace. Dragon Beat ran well in defeat at Kempton last week and is feared as a live danger while the likes of Sandridge Lad and Scale Force also come into the reckoning on the pick of their form. Wedding Date is unexposed and also worth a betting check on her Tapeta surface debut.
- Lorna Cole
- Dragon Beat
- Sandridge Lad
