Green and slowly away on debut, but much improved when winning a 1m½f novice at Wolverhampton last time by ¾L from Crimewave. Made a good impression there, and up to defying a penalty with further improvement to come at this trip.
Off to a winning start when beating subsequent Newmarket scorer Skymax by a short-head at Bath (1m2f, good to firm) in October, and respected despite his penalty on AW debut.
Pivotal half-brother to 1½m winner Andrea Mantegna. Already gelded, but encouraging that his sales price rose from €68,000 to €320,000 as a yearling, and unlikely to lack for fitness on racecourse bow.
Out of a useful winning half-sister to Deutsches Derby winner Dai Jin, and cost 100,000 gns as a yearling. Yard's newcomers usually better for a run, but market check needed given appealing pedigree.
10,000gns Mount Nelson half-brother to 6½f-7f AW winner Splashtop out of a 1m3½f winner. No impact on debut at Wolverhampton last month, andlikely to need more time if he's to achieve more.
By Australia out of a US 1m winner, and shaped well having run green early on racecourse debut over 1m here last month, running on well to be fifth of 12 to Mister Chiang. Better to come.
Son of Speightstown out of a stakes-winning mare in the US. Cost $350,000 as a yearling, and one to note in the market, especially in relation to stablemate American Graffiti.
Well bred, but worry that he was equipped with blinkers for last month's debut at Wolverhampton, and duly finished last. Visored now, and makes no appeal.
Gelded son of Norse Dancer who shaped quite well on Kempton introduction, but couldn't do any better over C&D last time, and will presumably be seen to better effect in handicaps.
Kingman half-sister to connections' smart 1m3½f-1¾m winner Brimham Rocks. Needed experience when seventh of 13 to Lady Adelaide over 1m at Kempton in November, and open to plenty of improvement at this trip and further.
Not made much impact in a few visits to the sale ring, but didn't shape at all badly when 5¾L sixth of 13 to San Carlos in a 7f novice at Kempton on second start, and may well do better, with handicaps an option after this run.

The Godolphin duo American Graffiti and Kinver Edge must be taken seriously, and Philonikia will improve on a promising debut over shorter but NEW KING looked one to follow when overcoming a tardy start to score at Wolverhampton last time, and this stiffer test looks sure to unlock further improvement. Themaxwecan also carries a penalty having beaten a subsequent winner on his turf debut, and completes the shortlist.
