Cape Cross filly who was in rear throughout on debut back in June at Newmarket over 1m. Change of surface and long absence since offer hope but still hard to fancy overall.
Beautifully bred daughter of War Front who cost $510,000 as a yearling. Bettered debut form when a fair fourth of 10 at Wolverhampton last month, and will improve again, for all handicaps might be a more lucrative path after this.
Bred along sprinting lines, although a cheap purchase, and showed just a modest level of ability on debut at Wolverhampton recently.
Sales price rose to £50,000 as a 2-y-o. Half-sister to 1½m winner Try Out and 1m1f-1¼m winner Ski Lift. Equipped with a hood on debut, which is a slight concern, and further will suit in time.
From family of smart sprinting juvenile Superstar Leo, and cost 45,000 gns last year. Dam won at this trip, but fitting of blinkers on debut does raise questions.
Sea The Moon filly out of a maiden who stayed 1m. Yard's newcomers usually better for a run, and wide draw another negative for one with no experience.
Underwhelming when tenth of 12 in 7f novice at Lingfield on recent debut, but very slowly away there, and likely to leave that form well behind in due course.
Sister to moderate winning hurdler Cheeky Rascal, and shaped better than 66/1 SP would have suggested here on debut, keeping on after a slow start. More to do, but should improve.
Yard not known for success with debutants, but this filly has a smart pedigree, being a daughter of Declaration of War out of a US winner, and cost $100,000 as a yearling. Market useful.
One of two for yard here, and didn't show much when down the field on debut at Southwell last month. Likely to do better in time.
Unfancied for debut here in November, and much improved when runner-up to She's Got You at Wolverhampton last time. Better to come as she learns her trade, and should be on the premises again.
By Cape Cross out of a mare closely related to smart middle-distance performer Dee Ex Bee. Looks yard's main hope on jockey bookings and one to note in the betting.
Half-sister to connections' 5f winner Pal of The Cat, but yard not known for getting them ready at the first time of asking, and others much preferred.
Related to plenty of winners, and cost 280,000 gns as a yearling. Represents a trainer with an excellent record in similar races, and leading claims assuming she's strong in the market.
Forecasts
Vandella (3/1), Dorchester (9/2), Solar Heights (5/1), Pacificadora (6/1), Canasta (11/1), Regal Ambition (11/1), Cape Cyclone (16/1), War No More (18/1), Invitational (20/1), Lucky Lou (25/1), Platinum Coast (25/1), Frea (66/1), Amor Kethley (100/1), Storm Girl (100/1)
VANDELLA makes plenty of appeal on paper, and couldn't be in better hands, so is taken to make a winning debut at the chief expense of Wolverhampton runner-up Regal Ambition. Solar Heights is another newcomer to make appeal, and would be feared if the market spoke for her.
