Won at the seventh attempt over fences with a gutsy if unspectacular performance at Fontwell earlier this month. Gets top marks for consistency but a 6lb higher mark makes life tougher.
Been cut some slack by the handicapper and, given the form of his highly respected yard, the gelding gates plenty of ticks in the right boxes. hasn't been the most consistent since returning from wind surgery though.
Solitary win came as a novice two years ago but has posted several near misses in the intervening period. Still, he has a bit to prove on debut for a new yard and on comeback run from a wind operation.
Useful in point-to-points without winning and has maintained the impression that he can pay his way under rules on at least a couple of occasions. Has room to move on his current mark, so has to be worth a betting check.
Winless over fences so far but has dropped to a very handy mark. First start back after wind surgery so the betting will have to guide as to whether improvement is expected.
Game winner of two of his last three starts but creeping up the weights as a result. Reacted well in the first-time visor at Exeter just over three weeks ago; place claims with the application reapplied today.
Likes a good test of stamina but has a bit to prove after failing to complete in either of his last two starts; dropped 2lb since his last run but still needs to prove his well being.
Game vetyeran who was rated 132 at his best in the distant past. Now attractively weighted in comparison but has posted more moderate efforts than good ones lately. Place claims but risks attached.
C&D winner on his chase debut but is up 10lb for what will be only his second start in a handicap. The rider's claim helps but this looks tougher for this front-runner and he may just help set things up for a strong finisher.
Showed ability in point-to-points but form under rules leaves a lot to be desired...too much for a recommendation as a solid punting prospect on this occasion.
has won off higher marks but is basically a low-grade chaser that has a very stiff test ahead from out of the handicap. Others are far more appealing.
Forecasts
Gonnabegood (11/4), The Ogle Gogle Man (5/1), Rollerball Rocco (5/1), Fight Commander (5/1), Pine Warbler (7/1), Sartorial Elegance (9/1), It's Obvious (11/1), Dontminddboys (28/1), Hansupfordetroit (28/1), Nine O Three (40/1), The Jugopolist (80/1)
Not the strongest of races, which may help THE OGLE GOGLE MAN cope with racing under top weight. Gonnabegood is in good form just now and merits respect despite now being on a career highest mark, while It's Obvious has more to offer from his current mark and is also worth considering as an alternative.
- The Ogle Gogle Man
