Very expensive purchase at €1,550,000 as a yearling but beautifully bred by Dubawi out of a Group 1 Falmouth Stakes winner. Market should prove informative on debut.

Well-bred brother to Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad who shaped well when a beaten favourite at Wolverhampton. Leading stable's runners tend to improve for the run and a likely contender.

Gelded son of Sir Percy who fetched 10,000 gns as a foal and £17,000 as a yearling. Others preferred on debut.

Son of Dandy Man whose price rose from €18,000 as a foal to 92,000 gns as a yearling. Worth a market check on debut.
Gelded son of Norse Dancer out of a Sir Percy mare. Likely to need further in time and best watched on his first start.

Price eye-catchingly increased from €6,000 as a foal, to €32,000 as a yearling and finally €66,000 as a two-year-old. Showed plenty of promise from off the pace over this C&D on debut and only likely to improve.

Bernardini colt fetched $85,000 as a yearling and 40,000 gns as a juvenile. Not fancied and well beaten on debut and remains best watched.

Gelded son of Norse Dancer should be suited by much further in time and will likely find this on the sharp side on debut.

Dansili colt represents a stable in flying form at present. One to note in the market on debut and no surprise to see him involved.

Intello filly failed to settle when finishing in mid-division on debut at Wolverhampton. Headgear may help but much more required.

Daughter of Archipenko and a half-sister to a number of winners. Well beaten at long odds in both starts so far and hard to make a case for.

Horse silk
20/1
Daughter of Speightstown who cost 240,000 gns as a yearling. Stable's runners tend to improve for their debut but worth a check in the betting.

Forecasts

Set Piece (11/10), Just The Man (7/2), Alhaazm (11/2), Al Battar (10/1), Elamirr (14/1), Wan Chai (20/1), Astrologer (25/1), Creationist (33/1), Entertaining (40/1), Border Warrior (40/1), Ring Cycle (66/1), Harry The Norseman (100/1), Moon Artist (100/1), Que Quieres (150/1)

Verdict

JUST THE MAN sets the standard of those with experience and he was flying home over this C&D on debut. Better was presumably expected from Alhaazm on debut but it was an unsuitably slowly run race and he's likely to improve for the run. Set Piece and Al Battar look the pick of the newcomers.
  1. Just The Man
  2. Alhaazm
  3. Set Piece
