Took advantage of a career-low mark with an impressive win at Southwell and makes a quick reappearance under a 6lb penalty. Should be involved but may now be better suited by fibresand.

Finished runner-up in a big field on his debut for this yard hinting at better to come but has fared below that in three subsequent starts. Others preferred back on the AW.

12-race maiden and proving a touch inconsistent. Poor run on turf latest following a better effort over this C&D. Could fare better returning to this surface but more required.

Both wins came over 5f here back in 2016. Missed the whole of last year but some promise in two of her three recent efforts. More needed but could fare better on this surface.

Winner over 5f at Newcastle two starts back but below that over the same C&D latest. Still remains on a competitive mark and chance now down in grade over an extra furlong that suits. Should be competitive.

Record is patchy but belatedly off the mark in handicap over the C&D three runs back. Caught the eye running on late over 5f here last time and should be involved back up to an ideal trip.

19-race maiden and was disappointing on his favoured track last start. Well beaten on previous visit here and others look stronger candidates.

On a losing run dating back to 2016 but is now 24lb lower. Had been really struggling for current trainer before being well fancied and a much improved effort at Kempton. Has form here in the past and can go close.

Back on same mark as win over 7f here in March but has been badly out of form in five starts since and remains best watched.

14-race maiden but not far away last twice and shaped latest as though a return to this trip should suit. Course debut and can be involved.

Only two thirds from 37 starts so far although both came over this C&D. Hard to recommend though on recent form.

Remains a maiden after 35 starts and five runs back from a break have been nowhere near good enough to feature here.

Black Salt (15/8), Spenny's Lass (6/1), Burtonwood (15/2), Precious Plum (9/1), Broken Wings (9/1), Kingsley Klarion (11/1), Mansfield (14/1), Indian Warrior (16/1), Naralsaif (16/1), Time To Reason (20/1), Cardaw Lily (28/1), Caledonian Gold (66/1), Tally's Song (100/1)

Verdict

KINGSLEY KLARION was backed as though a return to form was likely last time and he was just given too much to do otherwise he could well have landed the money. He's worth giving another chance off this mark while Spenny's Lass also went into the notebook over an inadequate trip and should be better back over this C&D. Black Salt is considered after his recent win but this is a much different surface while Burtonwood should be feared down in grade.
  1. Kingsley Klarion
  2. Spenny's Lass
  3. Burtonwood
