22-1 and not devoid of promise on debut at Kempton (6f) last month. Steps up significantly in trip this time, which should help with some improvement.
Went backwards last time after not being disgraced on debut. Can only watch for the time being.
Promising debut has been followed by two below par efforts. Steps up in trip, but hard to enthuse about his chance.
25-1 and well beaten on debut for Michael Bell at Yarmouth (1m) in April. Changed hands for just 2,000gns in July. In good hands, but perhaps one to watch this time.
Stepped up significantly on his debut when 3L third in a Newmarket novice event in June. That is the pick of the form here. Full-brother and dam both won on the Polytrack. Represents top trainer and will be tough to beat.
Made a significant improvement on his debut for Jeremy Noseda when beaten less than 3L on his first run for this trainer here over C&D recently. More needed, but not ruled out of the prize money.
Showed some improvement when last seen at Salisbury in July, but likely to make more of an impact when handicapping than in this line-up.
6-1 and showed understandable signs of greenness on debut at Newcastle (1m), despite being beaten just 2¼L. Should come on a fair bit for that run and this step up in trip. Not ruled out.
Has shown little in four starts and this should be far too hot for her.
Runner-up in all three starts so far and should again be thereabouts if taking her chance. Also declared to run Friday 2:35 Lingfield.
80-1 and 28L last of 11 on debut. Looks way out of her depth.
Two very good novice runs in June/July, one of them over C&D, but off the boil when stepped up to 1m4f last time. Drop in trip looks positive and she could be right back in the mix this time.
100-1 and well held on debut. Step up in trip looks positive, but can only watch again this time.
Forecasts
Star Of Bengal (8/11), Be Thankful (4/1), Simple Thought (11/2), Heeyaam (13/2), Space Bandit (12/1), Trade Talks (33/1), Shaji (80/1), Alonso Cano (100/1), Bambajee (100/1), De Beau Tant (100/1), Kavass (100/1), Longville Lilly (100/1), The Brora Pobbles (125/1)
A maiden that looks thin in terms of genuine contenders. Simple Thought has claims if she can bounce back now dropped again in trip, while Be Thankful and, if she comes here rather than going to Lingfield on Friday, Heeyaam, are others for the short-list. Trade Talks has each-way potential, but preference is for STAR OF BENGAL, who has the best piece of form in the field and whose pedigree offers hope that he can act away from turf.
- Star Of Bengal
- Simple Thought
- Be Thankful
