Very impressive when bolting up in the Lincoln and followed up in a Group 2 at Sandown next time. Well below that twice in Group 1's since, both in the Lockinge and the QEII. Surface the question on AW debut but this is a big drop in class.

Listed winner at Pontefract and has shown a liking for the AW when winning his first three on an artificial surface. Lost that unbeaten record in Sweden in a disappointing run last start. Needs to bounce back in a strong renewal.

A Group 3 winner last season, he rather lost his form for Mark Johnston with a poor run to finish off with and then to start off this campaign. Refused to enter the stalls before moving and again disappointing on stable debut. Best watched.

Boasts a fine record over this C&D including winning this last year and being awarded the Winter Derby on protest. Struggled the last twice on turf but testing conditions against him and likely to be spot on for this.

Group 3 winner in his pomp in 2015 but hasn't won since. Acted as a pacemaker to Cracksman and Enable in three starts and then a well held third back in this class. Goes well here but needs to find extra.

All three wins in France for Christophe Ferland came on the AW and he gained his first win for his new stable in good style at Chelmsford. Can make his mark stepping up to this level and remains lightly-raced.

Last win came in October 2016 and yet to win higher than handicap company. Second though on only previous AW start in the Group 3 September Stakes and a good third on his return at Newbury in that grade, however may find this on the sharp side.

Second in the Listed Sandown contest he won last year when unlucky not to get out in time but then disappointed at Goodwood when chiekpieces were removed. They stay off on AW debut and that remains a query.

Cork maiden winner has struggled since in four starts up at this level. This looks another tough ask and others rate stronger.

Forecasts

Addeybb (2/1), Master The World (11/2), Scarlet Dragon (6/1), Big Country (7/1), Spark Plug (7/1), Primero (7/1), Maverick Wave (12/1), Snowflakes (16/1), Frankuus (20/1)

Verdict

Addeybb is the class act in the race and if at his best will be very hard to beat, however he was very disappointing last time albeit at the highest level and his best form has come with cut a mile. He may just be worth taking on with PRIMERO, who has potential and is coming off the back of a career-best win with plenty in hand. He could be a very smart AW performer in the making while we know what we should get from last year's winner Master The World who is so ideally suited by this C&D.
