MELGATE MAJEURE took third on nursery bow at Musselburgh in August, coming home clear of the remainder in a race that looks decent in the context of this one, with the form likely to stand up. He can shed the maiden tag now after a short break. Cawthorne Lad also needs considering on the evidence of his last run at Thirsk while Palazzo is also considered having improved over this C&D on his last start. Lincoln Red and recent C&D scorer Fighting Spirit make up the shortlist.
