Won a Class 3 handicap here in June and will appreciate dropping to that same mark. Needs to recover from a string of disappointing runs.
Having gone thee years without a win he has scored twice this term. Now a triple winner at Thirsk and there is still mileage in this mark if he takes to the track.
All three wins have come on the AW and he has avoided soft ground in the past. Back from an eight month break and will have other targets in mind.
Has responded well to blinkers and followed his Ffos Las success with a fair effort at Ayr. Dropped in class here.
Strong traveller who did not find as as much as looked likely when dropped to 6f last week. Probably not the easiest ride and gets strong handling here.
Prominent racer whose two victories have come at Ripon. Has gone well here in the past and weighted to give a good account.
Suited to a soft surface and failed to handle Epsom last time. Will be thereabouts if coping with these less severe undulations.
Prolific winner who has been promising a return to form. His style of racing requires luck in running and it is not easy to come from the back around here.
Visor has had a positive effect but Monday's Musselburgh run suggested the handicapper is in charge for the time being.
Looks to have gone off the boil after a win at York in June and the worry is the ground, with his best form coming on quicker surfaces.
Has three wins and two places from seven starts here so connections will be hoping these undulations stimulate significant improvement on his last two outings.
Back to back wins here and at Beverley last month resulted in a harsh reassessment and he has failed to figure since.
Yet to win on turf and his recent AW efforts prove he is out of sorts. Hard to fancy on most counts.
Gained a seventh Ayr victory last week on similar ground. Yet to make the frame in four visits here though.
Has three wins here and has been placed a few times too. Second over 6f last time when racing wide on the bend but yet to make the frame in this class.
Forecasts
Zeyzoun (6/1), Start Time (15/2), Redrosezorro (8/1), Falmouth Light (8/1), Our Charlie Brown (9/1), Weellan (10/1), Amplification (10/1), Explain (12/1), Jay Kay (12/1), Stringybark Creek (14/1), Magic City (18/1), Scofflaw (18/1), Parys Mountain (28/1), Sword Exceed (33/1), Holiday Magic (40/1)
It often to pays to lie handy here and front-running WEELLAN should give a good account having been given a chance at the weights and with underfoot conditions to suit. Zeyzoun failed to cope with the undulations at Epsom and his style of racing will require luck in running, although he has an able pilot on board. Falmouth Light is a strong travelling type who will relish the likely pace and Amplification will be happier dropping into this company.
- Weellan
- Falmouth Light
- Amplification
