Landed four races last year and down to his last winning mark. Goes well on undulating circuits and handles any ground. Back to his optimum trip here.
Struggled in four starts since winning over 1m6f at Ripon (good) in August. Remains on a mark 2lb higher than for that victory.
Has his ground and below his March winning mark. Yet to win beyond 1m2f, but has given every indication he will stay this far given the right opportunity.
Handles the soft but not easy to win with and others in this look better handicapped. Will be happier back at this trip and would not rule out for each-way purposes.
Not at her best in last two starts but likes this track and scored here a year ago on similar ground.
Out of sorts lately and handicapper has taken a cautious view. Cheekpieces fitted here and others have stronger claims.
Put some disappointing runs behind him when a staying on fourth last time, but 1m4f around here may not be enough of a test.
Veteran is holding his form well but hard to argue he is well-handicapped and he would prefer a sounder surface than forecast.
Two solid runs in defeat since his Yarmouth success and he did best of those ridden prominently last time.
Struggling to produce back to back performances of note. Best performance was when scoring at Beverley (1m4f) in August, but two runs since at this level give him a fair bit to prove.
Won a Pontefract novice event (1m, heavy) last September, but has been well below that level of form so far this year. Signs at Doncaster she was about to pick up but she was flat at Ayr last time.
Sole victory came on a soft surface but his performances since have been sweet and sour. Hard to fancy on his latest run.
Has three C&D victories to his credit but all came in lower grade when with Karl Burke. Has not taken to hurdling and he needs to improve.
Not at the heights he achieved last year. There have been glimmers of promise, but he has something to prove stepping up in grade.
Sole win came in a French AW contest. With his fourth British trainer and this tougher than the Leicester race he contested last month.
Forecasts
Nibras Galaxy (5/2), C'Est No Mour (4/1), Al Destoor (9/1), Unwritten (11/1), Stormin Tom (12/1), Archippos (14/1), All My Love (16/1), Vision Clear (18/1), Delsheer (20/1), Be Perfect (22/1), Illustrissime (25/1), Visitant (25/1), Ingleby Hollow (28/1), Riviere Argentee (33/1), Azari (33/1)
An open looking contest but one which can go to ARCHIPPOS. Phil Kirby's charge is suited to soft conditions and although his wins have come over shorter, he has been poorly handicapped on recent attempts at this trip. Two AW runs at 2m have seen him drop below his last winning mark and market support would reinforce confidence. Nibras Galaxy looks the main danger given his current wellbeing, whilst C'est No Mour and Al Destoor have each-way claims.
- Archippos
- Nibras Galaxy
- C'Est No Mour
