Beryl The Petal²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: D Nolan| T: D O'Meara| OR: 69| D

9/1

Ripon winner whose worst effort came on sole run on soft. Looks vulnerable under her penalty and others preferred.

Form: 334152

(2)

Sylvia's Mother^b1²⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-4| J: Finley Marsh⁽⁵⁾| T: J Tuite| OR: 68

10/1

Hard to fancy on official ratings but she has bags of pace and that is an asset here. Blinkers replace a visor and rider's claim may be valuable. Tackles 6f for the first time.

Form: 064122

(6)

Champion Brogie⁶

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: Liam Keniry| T: J S Moore| OR: 73

3/1

Been mixing running in novice events in the UK and France so far this year but is yet to trouble the judge. Handles soft and sets a modest standard.

Form: 447464

(4)

Hot Contest^v1⁵

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: J Fanning| T: D O'Meara| OR: 69

5/1

Has soon come off the bridle on last three starts and that would not be ideal dropping in trip around this tight circuit. Visor tried for the first time.

Form: 8456

(5)

Perfect Swiss⁷

Age: 2| Weight: 9-2| J: D Allan| T: T D Easterby

14/1

Swiss Spirit gelding cost 11,000 gns as a yearling and is out of a 1m AW winner. Lacked the pace to mount a threat on last week's debut and the market will reveal if he has learnt anything for the experience. Stable took this last year.

Form: 5

(8)

Caustic Love

Age: 2| Weight: 8-11| J: Callum Rodriguez| T: K Dalgleish

3/1

€33,000 breeze-up purchase by Fast Company out of a dam who was placed over 6f. Stable have been going well lately so a market move would be significant.

Form:

(1)

Crystal Carole

Age: 2| Weight: 8-11| J: Jason Hart| T: J & S Quinn

14/1

Canford Cliffs half-sister to Ocean Crystal who won five races in Jersey and a Lingfield claimer. Likely to want further.

Form:

(3)

Madame Vitesse

Age: 2| Weight: 8-11| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey

6/1

€22,000 full-sister to a speedy French winner. In good hands and receives an allowance which would make her of interest if supported.

Forecasts

Champion Brogie (3/1), Caustic Love (3/1), Hot Contest (5/1), Madame Vitesse (6/1), Beryl The Petal (9/1), Sylvia's Mother (10/1), Perfect Swiss (14/1), Crystal Carole (14/1)

Champion Brogie is officially the highest rated of these but he appears to lack finishing pace and his mark may flatter him. The newcomers would not have to be anything out of the ordinary to stake a claim, but a chance is taken that SYLVIA'S MOTHER can stay the extra furlong as her early tactical speed could see her build a decisive advantage under her talented claimer.
