Over two years since last turf win and can be a bit quirky at times. Often slowly away and can take some rousting. Having said that he ran a cracker here from out the weights two starts back and a repeat of that would put him right in the mix.

Hasn't won now for over three years and the last two efforts have been a bit worrying. Folded tamely in France before being very reluctant to get going at Ascot last time. On a fair mark on best form but comes with risks attached now.

Only had three starts so far for this yard and mark is steadily falling. Beaten a long way at Kempton last time but this return to turf should suit and more than capable if bouncing back to his best.

Only had four starts so far this year and seems to be on the decline. Goes best on quick ground so wouldn't want any rain. Absolutely chucked in now on his old form if he can rediscover any of the old sparkle.

Having won on reappearance at Newbury in May he bounced back to form last time when going down by a short-head at Chelmsford to Rydan (1m5½f, AW). This trip is walking into the unknown really and there has to be a big doubt about him staying.

Won over this trip at Newmarket (good to soft) two starts back, before seemingly getting bogged down in the soft ground at Haydock last time over shorter. Conditions here should suit and it would be no surprise were he to be right in the thick of it

Won on first start for this yard back in January but has been out of sorts since. Well held on the AW at Lingfield and over hurdles of late and needs a sharp upturn in form to be involved here.

Been running consistently well of late especially at Salisbury. Keeps being nudged up the weights for not winning but can't fault his attitude. Sure to go well again with conditions to suit.

Best effort of three novice/maiden runs was his second, at Ffos Las (1m4f, good to soft). Well held over 1m6f on handicap debut at Catterick last time and now goes up further in trip.

Been running well this summer without managing to get his head in front having won three on the bounce early in the year. Sure to give his running once again but possible he's vulnerable to better handicapped rivals.

Bounced back to form of late having run well at Salisbury he followed that up with a good win at Chelmsford last time. Races off a 5lb lower mark her on turf so has sound claims of going well but not certain to follow that effort up.

Consistent hurdler who hasn't been seen in this sphere for three years. Not been at his best over hurdles of late but this mark should be workable.

Still 7lb higher than when winning at Doncaster back in June. Solid efforts the last twice and another for which it is impossible to discount her claims. Should run her race.

In the frame twice in 2m handicaps here this year, and fairly handicapped on form. Drop in trip on the AW at Kempton didn't suit last time and this is much more his cup of tea. Return to his best efforts would put him in the shake-up.

Verdict

A wide-open looking contest for the jump jockeys to kick things off in which you can make a case for plenty. Ian Williams has a couple of darts to throw and should have strong claims with JAM SESSION who won well over this trip at Newmarket before getting bogged down at Haydock over shorter last time. Conditions here should be ideal and he can get back to winning ways. For the same trainer Wolfcatcher is on a dangerous mark back on the flat. Sufi has been running really well without winning and is feared. Any market support for Pumblechook should be taken seriously.

  3. Pumblechook
