25/1
22,000gns yearling; finished last of seven on debut at Sandown (7f, good to firm) in July; absent since, and by Nathaniel is likely to need plenty further in time.
22,000gns yearling; firmly in the reckoning on debut at Bath (1m, firm) 10 days ago when stumbling over 1f out, and weakening to finish just under 6L fifth of eight to stablemate Eesha's Smile (made all); respected.
€15,000 yearling (resold for 10,000gns); fifth foal; half-brother to a couple of winners including Al Jellaby (1m).
5,000gns yearling; seventh foal; half-brother to winners Hallelujah (6f), Gold Flash (6f-7f), Tom Folan (5f) and Khyber Pass (7f); market a guide to his chances on debut.

Forecasts

Living Legend (2/1), Chinese Alphabet (3/1), Debbonair (3/1), Surrey Warrior (6/1), All Points West (12/1), Indian Copper (16/1), Green Etoile (25/1), Run Ashore (50/1), Barsa Kelmes (50/1), Areen Omar (66/1)

Verdict

Not too much in the way of form to go on for Division 1 of this 1m maiden auction stakes. Silvestre De Sousa takes over in the saddle aboard LIVING LEGEND, who ran far better than the finishing position implies on debut when 6L fifth to a stablemate (Eesha's Smile) at Bath ten days ago. He holds as good a chance as any on paper, and without the distinct benefit of market signals to consider rates as the safest advice. Others to respect include Surrey Warrior, Chinese Alphabet and Debbonair.
  1. Living Legend
  2. Surrey Warrior
  3. Debbonair
