Iffraaj filly out of a winning sister to Bated Breath and half-sister to Cityscape. Appeals very much on breeding, but yard just 1-17 with juveniles in 2018, and likely to need this experience.

Dark Angel half-sister to a juvenile winner over 5f out of connections' German 1,000 Guineas winner Penny's Gift. Clueless when last of 11 on debut at Goodwood early last month, but ought to be much sharper now.
Half-sister to useful 7f-1m1f winner Nocturnal Secret. Promising third on debut over 6f on turf, and worn down late when fourth over 1m here last time. This intermediate trip should suit ideally.
By Galileo out of dual Group 3 winner Maureen. Cost a whopping 800,000 gns as a yearling. Has no fancy entries, but makes plenty of appeal on pedigree, and shortlisted making her racecourse bow.
Lope de Vega half-sister to useful winner up to 1½m Count Calabash, out of a maiden. Yard can ready one occasionally, but pedigree suggests she's one for the longer term.

Homebred daughter of Poet's Voice out of a useful 7f/1m winner. Yard has a poor record with 2-y-o runners here, and she is sure to benefit from this introduction.

Cheaply-bought Lethal Force filly out of a sprint maiden. Makes no great appeal in a race of this nature, and yard's last juvenile winner here was back in 2011.

Has a very attractive pedigree, being out of a half-sister to July Cup winner Dream Ahead, but she has shown very little in two starts to date. Patience beginning to wear thin.

22/1
Charm Spirit filly who was quite well backed when ninth of 16 in a 6f maiden at Windsor on debut, and built on that when fourth of 8 to Swift And Sure in novice at Salisbury last time. May do better still.

Horse silk
4/1
Teofilo half-sister to useful 1m winners Hornsby and Emirates Airline. Too green to show anything on debut at Goodwood last month, and should show more about what she can do now.

Zaula18
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: R Varian
11/4
Daughter of Dark Angel who is a half-sister to 1m winner Zymyran. Unfancied when a respectable sixth of 13 behind Manuela de Vega, and should do better, for all she needs to.

Forecasts

Mary Somerville (11/4), Zaula (11/4), Wish (4/1), Gold At Midnight (11/2), Parish Poet (8/1), Thebah (20/1), Abanica (20/1), Wing Defence (22/1), Poet's Magic (33/1), Black Medick (66/1), Shadow Force (66/1)

Verdict

Gold At Midnight went for home a little too soon over 1m here last time, looking the winner until weakening late. The drop to 7f will suit, and she is respected, but the vote goes to the impeccably bred MARY SOMERVILLE, a daughter of Galileo and Fred Darling winner Maureen, who cost 800,000 gns as a yearling. Zaula should improve on a creditable debut effort, and looks the pick of the remainder.
  1. Mary Somerville
  2. Gold At Midnight
  3. Zaula
