Won the Winter Derby back in February but gained inauspicious returns from a short turf campaign since. Will appreciate the drop in grade from Group 3s to a handicap but looks vulnerable on these terms.
Rounded off last season in fine style by winning a competitive event at Newmarket last October. Well below that form in both starts this campaign and has a bit to prove on recent evidence.
Posted a series of respectable efforts but his best form has been achieved with a good bit of give underfoot. However, is unexposed over the trip and yard highly respected, so a market move would have to be noted with interest for a place at least.
Showed his class by smoothly cutting through the field to edge a narrow win at Doncaster on his penultimate start. Has to be a concern that he was well below that level last time, though.
Plenty of promise in first two starts this season but held when tried in this grade in France last time. The market can guide as to where he stands in the pecking order with stablemate Original Choice but unexposed and a bold effort not ruled out.
In good form on the AW but was a disappointing favourite back on turf (over 1m6f) last time out. Has a bit to prove with Adamant from a previous C&D encounter, so appears to face a stiff test now he's dropped in distance again.
Typically been kept busy by his high-profile yard but has struggled since winning a brace of modest handicaps in the summer and makes limited appeal now upped in grade.
Gelded last October but made a good start to the season by winning on his return in May. Also caught the eye in defeat on his first try over 1m2f when second at Sandown at the start of this month. May be more to come and is another to consider.
Useful over a mile; rallied under pressure to win at Yarmouth back in June before holding the likes of Aquarium in a truly run race at Goodwood next time out. Has a tendency to hang and often looks ungainly but dangerous to omit if he gets the trip.
Returned from wind surgery with a couple of wins earlier in the year and generally been in good form since. Placed in this grade last time out and, from the same mark, has another feasible chance of making the frame. Trip and ground ideal.
Won a fillies handicap (extended 1m2f, good to soft) at York in July and comes here after a solid run at Haydock last time. Stiffer test against the boys this time and may be better with more give underfoot.

Mountain Angel (3/1), Adamant (7/2), Beringer (5/1), Pivoine (6/1), Stylehunter (6/1), My Lord And Master (7/1), Original Choice (7/1), First Nation (8/1), Buzz (9/1), Kassar (10/1), Global Giant (10/1), Exhort (14/1), Aquarium (16/1), Commander Cole (25/1), Master The World (33/1)
A tough one to call and not many can confidently be ruled out. The likes of Adamant, Mountain Angel, and the improving Stylehunter are all capable of taking a hand at this level and are worthy of consideration. However, marginal preference is for PIVOINE, who was an authoritative winner at York last time out and may still have a good deal more to offer despite racing from a 5lb higher mark. Beringer and My Lord And Master are a couple of others with place claims in what is a tightly-knit renewal.
