Didn't stay on first attempt at this trip at Newmarket last time but that was on soft ground. Worth another try on this faster surface having won over a mile here in May, although is 10lb higher now.
Bought by current connections after landing Windsor seller over this trip this summer. Has failed to shine in two starts over timber since then and reverts to the Flat off 3lb higher mark than last start.
67,000 guineas Camelot yearling, she landed Thirsk 7f maiden on second start then outclassed and last in two listed events. Better effort in handicap last time and this is more her level so should be there or thereabouts.
Eight race maiden who looks to have share of temperament having shown some ability when runner-up in handicap at Wolverhampton earlier in the term. Out of form prior to refusing to race at Goodwood last time when hot favourite. Risky proposition.
Creditable second at Windsor three starts back but ran poorly in maiden handicap at Brighton when last of six last time out so cheekpieces now applied. Not out of it but needs to leave latest poor effort behind her.
Won at Brighton in July for Richard Hannon before joining current yard. Close second at Beverley four weeks ago before winning at Musselburgh latest in determined fahsion. Only 2lb higher and northern yard make long journey here so should go well.
Third in Nottingham novice stakes in June gives her a squeak but has seemingly regressed in last three starts and much more needed now to see her in the thick of the action.
Showed nothing in two starts in France and nothing more in two starts here where sent off 100/1 both times. Yard in good form at present but would be a shock winner. First-time cheekpieces applied.
Forecasts
Mystic Meg (2/1), My Boy Sepoy (5/2), Straight Ash (4/1), Phoenician Star (5/1), Vanity Vanity (16/1), Takiah (20/1), First Call (25/1), Mouchee (25/1)
STRAIGHT ASH can make the long journey from the north count having shown a good attitude when battling home at Musselburgh last time and is only 2lb higher now. Top weight My Boy Sepoy can leave behind a disappointing run on soft ground at Newmarket and shouldn't be far away, while Mystic Meg enters calculations as well on recent efforts, along with Vanity Vanity. If Phoenician Star behaves he may be thereabouts but after refusing to race last time he is impossible to recommend.
- Straight Ash
- My Boy Sepoy
- Mystic Meg
