C&D winner who is back down below his last winning mark. Last few efforts have been poor however, and impossible to fancy until showing a bit more spark.

Lightly raced gelding hasn't really built on the promise of his second in a Newmarket handicap back in May. Not disgraced on last couple of starts, but hardly looks a winner in waiting.

Creditable efforts in four starts since joining this stable, and stayed on again late when 2L third of 4 to Archimento at Brighton last time. Not dismissed granted a suitable test.

Impressive winner from a subsequent dual winner on his debut here in October (1m). Disappointed in a couple of turf runs this season, but no surprise if he left those runs behind back on AW having been gelded.

Second twice so far, his best effort coming when beaten ½L at Chepstow in May. Not gone on from that, although may have needed latest outing after a break since being gelded.

Promise in novice events, and didn't need to improve when winning 4-runner handicap at Chepstow last time by 1¾L from Dorella. Up 4lb for that so more needed, but that's not out of the question.

Returned to form with a second over 1½m at Wolverhampton on penultimate start, and again ran well when placed over same trip here last time. Likely to go well again after a 1lb rise for that effort.

Best effort for David Smaga in France when runner-up on debut as a 3-y-o. Hasn't progressed from that. but fairly handicapped on balance of form, and market useful starting out for new yard.

Built on promise of previous two efforts when winning 6-runner handicap at Chelmsford last time by 2¾L from Global Wonder. Steps up in class here, but a previous C&D winner, and not easily dismissed with leading rider booked.

Left Henry Candy after second start this season, and still a maiden. Just respectable efforts for new yard, and remains opposable from current mark.

Forecasts

Simoon (3/1), Starcaster (3/1), Tenedos (9/2), Podemos (11/2), Saumur (7/1), Art Of Swing (7/1), Purple Rock (16/1), Argus (33/1), Jupiter (50/1), Ilhabela Fact (66/1)

Verdict

SAUMUR makes most appeal given she comes here on the back of two solid placed efforts, and is preferred to last-time-out winner Art of Swing, who is another likely to give his running given his good recent record. Tenedos is harder to fancy on this seasons efforts, but looks very interesting having beaten recent course winner Maaward easily on his sole start here last year.

  3. Tenedos
