Won on his only start at this course over 7f earlier in the season in Listed company. Found Group 2 company too tough last time at Goodwood and while not disgraced in the run, he looks vulnerable from a handicapping perspective here.
Yet to get his head in front this campaign but produced something close to a career best when runner-up at Ascot last time. 2lb higher here and while he probably he has one in him off this sort of mark, consistency wouldn't be his forte.
Produced a career best effort when making all the running at York last time under a fine ride. Wide draw will make similar tactics tough around here and any ease in the going wouldn't be in his favour.
At his best with soft in the going description. In good form of late and his three runs over C&D have been respectable despite not being able to get his head in front. Of interest if any rain arrives given the fair form he's in this season.
Two-time course winner. Rattled off a hat-trick on AW this winter but hasn't been able to replicate that form on turf this winter. Handicapper has shown him some leniency though and he's back below his last winning turf mark.
Listed winner at Epsom earlier in the campaign and while his form dipped subsequently, he produced a much better effort at the Goodwood Festival last time. Will bid to make all from an ideal draw and should go well.
Won his first two starts of the season but never got a blow of any sort in at Sandown when last spotted in early July. Might be worth forgiving that run off the break here but drop back in trip may not be ideal.
Has already won twice over C&D this season. While he ran with credit at York last time and the handicapper has dropped him another 1lb, the wide draw looks far from ideal.
Won three and placed twice last year in eight starts but his form has been a little inconsistent this time around. Won at Musselburgh earlier in the campaign and ran with credit at York last time but best form is with cut in the ground.
€600,000 juvenile with winning form in France (1m maiden). Off the track since August 2017, but his new trainer had little to lose by taking a chance on him at the sales recently (€8,000 pick in July 2018). Entitled to need the run on return.
Has done all his winning around Beverley but only narrowly denied at Thirsk last time out. Up 3lb for that though and wide draw not ideal here.
Has made a promising start for this yard and followed a respectable C&D second with a Wolverhampton win last time in a maiden. Lightly raced for his age and potentially more progress on the cards here but will need it from his opening handicap mark.
Forecasts
Lake Volta (4/1), Oh This Is Us (11/2), Daira Prince (11/2), Documenting (7/1), Shady Mccoy (8/1), Muntadab (9/1), Lualiwa (11/1), Baraweez (11/1), Poet's Society (12/1), Arcanada (14/1), Al Erayg (33/1), Rousayan (66/1)
It may be worth taking a chance on two-time course winner ARCANADA now he's back below his last winning turf mark. The gelding shaped like a return to form was imminent at York two starts back and he didn't have the race run to suit back at that course last week. Lake Volta is one to consider after a much improved effort at Goodwood last time while Muntadab is another contender in good form and his chance can be upgraded if there's any soft in the going description.
- Arcanada
- Muntadab
- Lake Volta
