Barely beaten a rival home in two starts so far this year but first run was in the Wokingham and the second was on ground that was much too quick for him. On a good mark now and no surprise were he to bounce back on his ground.
Hasn't won on turf since way back in 2013 but no worries about conviction. Been running well this year but this is competitive and overall feeling is that he'll go well without winning.
In terrific form earlier in the year winning twice at Bath. 6lb higher than for last win but has been given a short break and has won over C&D before. Progress may not have ended just yet and yard won this last year.
Aquitted herself well in Listed/Group company at the back-end of last year when with William Haggis. Starts life for new yard today and is dropped into a handicap for the first time today. Should have solid claims is fit and ready to go.
Won well on heavy ground at Windsor back in April and is only 2lb higher here. Any rain will be a huge bonus and if it comes up soft he will have sound claims of running well.
First four starts this year were poor and had lost his way a bit. Showed much more at Newmarket last time and is on a good mark. Another one that will be hoping for plenty of rain as the softer the better really.
Off the track now for ten months and starts life today for a new yard off a pretty attractive mark. Another one that will appreciate any rain and market move would be interesting as connections love to have a winner here.
Having a terrific summer having dropped in the weights he's now won three of his last four. Gone up a total of 18lbs now which makes life tougher but is a sprinter in form and obvious claims.
A really nice gelding who did well for William Haggas last year. Looked in need of the run on return to action at Newmarket two weeks ago and he should be capable off this mark. Interesting that De Sousa rides and he has very strong claims.
Out of form at the back-end of last year and off the track for seven months before struggling behind Mobsta at Windsor in April. Off since and likely to need this too having had a wind operation.
Climbed the ranks this year having won three times already. based on his last two runs it looks like the handicapper has now caught up with him though and could find this tough going.
Has been getting better with every run season and has now won three on the bounce over C&D. Up another 6lb but better than ever last time and every chance she can come on again and complete the four-timer.
Won a 7f Lingfield maiden (good to soft) on debut last year and was back in front again there last time (6f, good to soft). Up 2lb for that, but still unexposed and may have a say if it softens up.
Salisbury novice winner last year (5f, good to soft), who ran in Listed company (beaten over 6L) on his last run this term. Hood applied for this step up in trip. Unexposed but a bit to prove.
Won at Newmarket over 1m back in May but four efforts since have not been as good. Drops back to sprinting here and likely to find a couple of these too quick.
Not far behind Sweet Pursuit here two starts back and has a fair pull with that rival now. More rain the better and has each-way claims despite being 1lb out the weights.
Forecasts
Alaadel (9/2), Eastern Racer (5/1), Sweet Pursuit (7/1), Smokey Lane (15/2), Hyperfocus (10/1), Odyssa (11/1), Bernardo O'Reilly (12/1), Mobsta (12/1), Upstaging (12/1), Miracle of Medinah (12/1), Youkan (16/1), The Daley Express (20/1), One Minute (33/1), Harry Beau (40/1), Satchville Flyer (40/1), Blaine (66/1)
A cracking sprint handicap with some progressive types. The one that makes the most appeal is ALAADEL who shaped last year like he will end up much better than his current mark. Having looked like he needed the run at Newmarket on reappearance, he should be spot on now and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa only adds confidence. Sweet Pursuit is on a large upward curve and is very much respected in her attempt for the four-timer. She was better than ever last time and clearly goes well here. The Daley Express has been progressive this year and returns from a break for a yard that won this last year and is best of the rest.
- Alaadel
- Sweet Pursuit
- The Daley Express
