Seems to be slowly coming to hand this term and not beaten all that far at Goodwood (7f, good) last time. Should be in the mix if able to get a decent position from this wide draw.
Combination of the tongue-tie and the cheekpieces did the trick at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) last time. Nudged up 4lb for that win and slightly concerning that the pieces are left off here today.
First time visor then blinkers have worked the trick with back-to-back victories over C&D and at Newcastle. Blinkers retained here but hit with an 8lb rise in a deeper race which makes life tougher.
Only had two starts so far in 2018 and has been beaten a long way in both. Starting to look attractively handicapped now though and riders claim adds to his appeal. Could bounce back to form from an attractive draw.
Won both his starts to date and starts life in handicaps today off what looks a very workable mark. Draw has not been kind which makes life tougher, but may well be up to the task anyhow.
Ran well in a decent race on her reappearance but the two subsequent efforts albeit in better races have not been at the same level. Needs to bounce back to be competitive but stall 13 makes life very difficult.
Was a huge eye-catcher at Newmarket back in April and ran well on next start at Chester. Wheels have come off somewhat since and is now some 9lb lower than that Newmarket run. Wide draw a concern but any market move would be significant.
Run well on all four starts and despite having some quirks is clearly learning on the job. Won well at Chlemsford last time and goes handicapping off a realistic mark. Well drawn and a player for sure.
Not having the best of times of late but mark is slowly coming down as a result. Hard to recommend in such a competitive heat given his recent form but he is well drawn and best efforts have come on the AW.
Form this year has tailed off somewhat and the draw has not been kind here pitched out in 11. Mark is falling though and signs last time that he maybe coming to hand. This is very competitive all the same.
Made a winning seasonal debut when successful over C&D in April. Form has not been as good since and is still 2lb higher than for that win and this is pretty competitive. Others preferred.
First run since leaving Charles Hills when respectable sixth of 12 in handicap at Nottingham in May over extended-mile. Remains 5lb above sole winning-mark for this return.
Winner over C&D back in June off a 1lb lower mark under this rider. Not quite so good since but a return here could spark him back into life and not dismissed lightly.
Slowly showing improved form in handicaps this term and went close at Leicester last time. Nudged up 1lb for not winning and into a deep race here but further improvement is likely.
Forecasts
Honey Man (5/2), Piece Of History (3/1), Hakeem (4/1), Lawmaking (10/1), Gossiping (10/1), Kingston Kurrajong (16/1), Electric Landlady (16/1), Medieval (25/1), Redgrave (33/1), Noble Peace (33/1), Knight Owl (33/1), Prost (33/1), Spirit Of Belle (50/1), Madeleine Bond (66/1)
Honey Man moves into handicap company off a realistic mark and should have further progress in him. PIECE OF HISTORY is unbeaten in two starts so far and looks to be capable of defying his opening mark. Gossiping has fallen to a very dangerous mark and would become of real each-way interest should the market speak in his favour.
- Piece Of History
- Honey Man
- Gossiping
