Won here three years ago on previous visit and fallen to an attractive mark now 4lb lower than last winning one. Good second last time suggested a win shouldn't be far away.

Completed a hat-trick of wins before third last twice. Ran well enough last time off this mark to suggest he can run another solid race but does look weighted up to his best.

Move In Time22
Age: 10|  Weight: 9-11| J: T Eaves| T: P T Midgley| OR:  89| D

Veteran who is probably high enough in the weights at this stage of his career. Back to form second last start but has always been a better horse at the minimum trip and this step up raises a question mark.

Hakamp11

Ran a very good fourth at Ascot that would put him right in the mix as a leading contender but was below that since which matches overall inconsistent profile. Yet to win on turf and others preferred.

Highland Acclaimh13
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-8| J: D Nolan| T: D O'Meara| OR:  86| D

Edging back up in the weights but continues to run well since his Epsom win. Has now won his last four at that track but is in good enough form to be competitive again here.

East Street Revueb14
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-7| J: D Fentiman| T: T D Easterby| OR:  85
12/1
Has been generally struggling in much better races this year and gets a welcome drop in class. Could bounce back at this level but all four career wins have come at 5f.

The Armed Man20
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-6| J: M Stainton| T: C W Fairhurst| OR:  84| CD
7/1
Ran up a sequence of four wins from six last year and has hit another rich vein of form winning two of his last three including a battling success over the C&D. Only up another 3lb and that should be no barrier to another bold effort.

Kenny The Captain12
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-4| J: T Hamilton| T: T D Easterby| OR:  82| CD

Gets a handy pull in the weights with The Armed Man for a neck second over the C&D and ran another solid performance at Ayr. Tends to improve for a couple of runs back so should be a leading contender.

Daltonp32
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-0| J: D Allan| T: Miss J A Camacho| OR:  78| D

Won on his seasonal reappearance which has meant that both career wins have now come following an absence. That was his stable debut but he was well held subsequently and others look more convincing.

Horse silk
The Amber Fort12
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-9| J: Ben Robinson(3)| T: M Herrington| OR:  73| D
20/1
Yet to win on turf and appreciated the return to an AW surface when a solid second. Tough ask now on this different surface and a step up in class.

Ninjago15
Age: 8|  Weight: 8-8| J: Barry McHugh| T: P T Midgley| OR:  72| D
12/1
Infrequent winner but capable on his day as he showed winning off 6lb higher at HQ last year. On a decent mark but may need something less competitive than this.

Forecasts

Normandy Barriere (7/4), The Armed Man (7/1), Highland Acclaim (15/2), Dalton (9/1), East Street Revue (12/1), Ninjago (12/1), Kenny The Captain (12/1), Move In Time (14/1), Mujassam (14/1), Hakam (16/1), The Amber Fort (20/1)

Verdict

Normandy Barriere has done most of his winning at this trip so the drop back could be the key and should run a bold race for an in-form stable. Highland Acclaim is running consistently well and although he seems to reserve his very best for Epsom should be considered. The Armed Man is a horse to follow when he hits a run of form like this but will have to find something extra to hold out the now race-fit KENNY THE CAPTAIN who is weighted to reverse the form from their C&D one-two.
  1. Kenny The Captain
  2. The Armed Man
  3. Normandy Barriere
