Gained a first win since a hat-trick in 2015 when a winner here at the end of last summer and ran well when placed over 1m4f at York in a follow up bid. Goes well here but entitled to need this run on return and others may be on better marks.

Has plenty of graded form to his name over in Bahrain. Hard to asses on first start in a handicap in Britain for his new yard. Market very much a decent guide to expectations. Best form is at this trip.

A story of rapid progression this year since coming over from Ireland with a hat-trick of wins and two solid efforts since. Continues to rise in the weights and this requires another career best but no saying when that improvement will end.

Had a spell in the UAE earlier in the year but has not convinced at all in three runs since. You can make excuses for a couple of them. Need to see a bit more before being of interest.

Won on handicap debut at Wolverhampton off a 1lb lower mark way back in November 2016. Three runs since a long absence have not been overly encouraging but would have a shout if returning to that earlier form.

Won at Newcastle in January off a 3lb higher mark but form has tailed off somewhat since and is hard to fancy in his current mood.

Lightly raced and has only had one start so far this year on the back of a wind operation. Sent off favourite that day but was well beaten. Probably capable of better and it will be interesting to see if the money comes again.

Been running consistently well in handicaps without winning over the last year. Should be cherry ripe now after tow starts this summer and takes a drop in trip here. Place claims at least.

Forecasts

To Dibba (9/4), Erik The Red (11/4), Gulf Of Poets (4/1), Aasheq (9/2), Commander Cole (13/2), Another Eclipse (7/1), Restorer (8/1), Carbon Dating (12/1), Von Blucher (16/1), Vale Do Sol (33/1)

Verdict

The dark one in here is Vale Do Sol who makes his British debut off what could be a lenient mark. A market check is very much needed for him here. Another Eclipse should be cherry ripe now after a couple of runs and gets in here off bottom weight. GULF OF POETS returns from a short break but was highly progressive prior to that and can get back to winning ways here.
