Has looked like his turn could be near throughout his last few starts, including over this trip at Kempton last time out. Return to turf not an issue and looks on a good mark.
Off the mark at Lingfield last time out but has gone up 7lb for just a head victory, which won't make things easy by any means here.
Disappointing on his most recent start at Wolverhampton, though was carrying a penalty and may not have appreciated the Tapeta. Interesting on return to turf off this opening mark.
Up 4lb for winning at Newmarket last time out. That was only a narrow victory so he won't find things as easy here, though he may well still be progressing.
Never a factor in a competitive Newmarket handicap last time out and return to a less busy field likely to suit here. Still possibly a bit high in the weights judging by his Kempton victory two starts back.
Has failed to beat a horse home in his last two starts. Drop in class should help but still tough to build a case for following those two efforts.
Ran well to finish second at Lingfield last time out off 2lb lower than this, and a repeat of that kind of performance would see him go well.
Still well beaten when finishing fourth at Bath last time out, though edging down the weights and can't be ruled out from hitting the frame.
Solid efforts in handicaps the last twice and 2lb drop down the weights won't hurt. Has each-way potential on this return to turf.
Only one of his three runs in novice company was of particular interest, though if running to that sort of standard off this mark he could be in the mix. Absence to overcome.
Forecasts
Warsaan (3/1), Character Witness (10/3), Deadly Accurate (9/2), Cosmopolitan Queen (7/1), Brigand (8/1), Dukeofwallingford (11/1), Running Cloud (12/1), Port Of Call (16/1), Letsbe Avenue (25/1), Global Passion (33/1)
This could go to WARSAAN. Owen Burrows' gelding didn't win by all that far at Newmarket last time out, but he's lightly-raced enough to suggest that there could be further improvement to come, so he may be good enough to defy a 4lb rise up the weights. Deadly Accurate should go well on this return to the turf, while Brigand is an interesting handicap newcomer.
- Warsaan
- Deadly Accurate
