Stepped up on Newbury debut effort when finishing fourth of 10, not beaten that far, at Lingfield. Those efforts leave him with a bit to find, but more improvement is on the cards.
Shaped as though this greater test of stamina would suit when a running-on third of 16 over 1m2f at Newbury on his second start. More improvement on the cards so he is one for the short list.
Beat only two rivals in two races as a juvenile, but both were over significantly shorter and he is likely to be better suited to this stamina test. Wears a hood for the first time.
Tailed off on both starts at Kempton and Windsor in the spring. Wears a tongue tie for the first time and it will need to have a startling effect if he is to get involved.
By Dalakhani out of a mare who won over 7f. Top jumps yard is adept at finding Flat winners, too, so he is well worth a second look on debut.
Failed to beat a rival in contests at Ascot and Lingfield last month. Impossible to recommend until showing much more.
Two quiet runs on the AW at Lingfield before improving for the switch to turf when second of seven at Ripon recently. Raced prominently there and could be hard to pass if adopting similar tactics.
Has run well on all three starts without managing to get his head in front. Step up in trip needs to eke out improvement, but he is certainly a player.
Second foal by Teofilo out of the 1m2f-1m4f winner Polygon and is a half-brother to talented AW winner Ply (1m2f-1m3f). Finished quite well when sixth of eight in a better race at Ascot on debut and can do better.
Dubawi colt who is a half-brother to winning middle-distance performers Memorial Day and Mountain Spring. Hinted at ability when finishing in mid-division on debut at Leicester and should improve for the run.
Well beaten in both starts on the AW at Lingfield last month. Should do better in handicaps further down the line.
Forecasts
Cacophonous (9/4), Recordman (5/2), King Lud (3/1), Firlinfeu (7/1), Polish (10/1), Blackfyre (20/1), David (20/1), Chaparral Prince (66/1), Double Legend (80/1), Cosmogyral (100/1), Childe Harold (150/1)
Chaparral Prince should do better now he is facing a greater stamina test, while Polish and Recordman are capable of improving on debut efforts which suggested they are not devoid of talent. King Lud boasts a fair level of form and should go well, but the two to focus on may be Firlinfeu and CACOPHONOUS, with narrow preference for the latter on the assumption that he should be suited by stepping up in trip. David looks an interesting newcomer.
- Cacophonous
- Firlinfeu
- King Lud
