Well beaten on Flat/stable debut at Wetherby (1m2f good) last month having previously run unsuccessfully in bumpers/over hurdles for northern based trainer George Charlton.

Unraced Dark Angel gelding who cost £150,000 as a yearling, but has clearly had some issues only now making the racecourse at the age of four. His dam Kisses For Me won over 1m, and was placed over 1m4f.

Galileo gelding who raced just once for Aidan O'Brien (1m4f) and finished well down the field behind Aspetar over C&D on stable debut in April; 66/1.

Half-sister to a 2m winning hurdler, and hasn't beaten too many rivals so far in a couple of AW spins at Wolverhampton (1m-1m4f). No chance on turf debut.

6/4
Galileo colt who wore a tongue tie on debut at Sandown in August (third), and ran to a similar level over that same C&D next time (1m) when beaten 3L by Crossed Baton. Interesting upped in trip following wind surgery.

Unraced fourth foal by Nathaniel out of a Listed placed middle-distance winning dam (Doggerbank). Cost €40,000 as a yearling and is a half-brother to French 1m3f+ winner Disquoatational, so clearly rates as one to note in the market.
Unraced stablemate of Timespan by Galileo (out of Famous). Cost 155,000 gns as a yearling, and is a brother to 1m3f-1m4f+ winner Abyssinian. The market looks likely to reveal the best clues with regards his chance.

Raced only on soft to heavy ground so far, so these conditions will present a new challenge to this son of Cityscape who in truth hasn't looked to be anything out of the ordinary. Improvement required.

Unraced third foal by Makfi out of a 1m6f winning dam (Albeed). Cost 16,000 gns as a yearling, this half-brother to the 1m3f-1m4f winner Arab Moon should improve for this initial racecourse experience.

Started at triple figure odds on all three AW starts (1m1f+ to 1m4f), demonstrating precious little ability, so can't possibly be considered on turf debut.

Raced keenly on debut at Chelmsford in early May (1m2f); 100/1, finishing a tailed off last of nine to Main Street.

Stablemate of Cassini, and undoubtedly disappointing on debut at Wetherby in late April (7f soft). Upped in trip on quicker ground; by Camelot so bred to stay but this 260,000 gns yearling needs to settle better in order to progress.

7/1
Held by a stablemate of Cassini/Staplegrove when runner up at Chelmsford on his second career start (1m2f) and seemingly undone by the longer trip in a decent race at Thirsk next time. Respected.
Unraced first foal by Teofilo out of the 1m3f AW winner Sharareh. Half-sister to the useful dual purpose performer Totalize so ideally might require further in time and done no favours by the draw (out on the flank).

Age: 3|  Weight: 8-3| J: M Dwyer| T: A M Balding
50/1
Regular hood wearer who hasn't shown much in the way of speed thus far, and could only plug on to be a well beaten sixth behind a stablemate of Cassini/Staplegrove at Chepstow latest (1m4f good to firm).

Horse silk
14/1
Unraced first foal by Al Kazeem out of a 1m+ AW winner who was a sister to various high-profile winners including Passage Of Time and Father Time. Interesting to see what the market implies, especially in relation to her stablemate Galileo Silver.

Forecasts

Cassini (6/4), Galileo Silver (10/3), Temur Khan (7/1), Drap D'or (8/1), Timespan (14/1), Cuban Fire (14/1), Staplegrove (16/1), Ishallak (25/1), Lothario (25/1), Oenophile (50/1), Maknifico (66/1), Forbidding (66/1), Walter Sickert (80/1), No Equalisers (150/1), Phantom Warrior (200/1), Five Again (250/1)

Verdict

Without the benefit of close inspection of the market vibes, not a race in which to be taking a strong early standpoint. Both John Gosden and Roger Charlton are doubly respected with interesting looking horses, whilst the Hugo Palmer trained Temur Khan has already shown a solid level of form in the context of this race. However, we need a selection so the vote goes to the Gosden trained CASSINI who is upped in trip following winter wind surgery and being a son of Galileo should be open to further progression over middle distances.
  1. Cassini
  2. Galileo Silver
  3. Temur Khan
