Best effort for previous trainer Tom Clover came at Kempton on final start of last season. Interesting to see how he fares on seasonal reappearance and first outing for this stable.
Plenty of promise at various stages of his career, but is lightly raced for a horse of his age and has clearly had issues. That said, he has shown he can go well following a break and he is one to keep a close eye on after another long absence.
In good form last year, winning twice and generally running well. Has a stiff handicap mark and lengthy absence to overcome, but further improvement cannot be ruled out.
Only win in nine starts came at Lingfield as a juvenile. Tends to go well fresh, however, and has slipped to an appealing handicap mark for first outing this season.
Regular at this track where he landed a seller in January. Usually runs well in handicap company without getting his head in front and it was the same last time off 2lb higher than his current mark. Place claims.
Making her seasonal reappearance when third of 10 over 6f at this track last month. Shaped as though this extra distance might suit, so is one to consider given she is likely to be a little sharper this time.
Off the mark at the eighth attempt when returning from a break over 1m½f at this venue last time. Drop in trip not guaranteed to suit and is 4lb higher.
Behind Energia Flavio when having his first run since December at this venue earlier this month. Should strip fitter this time and has been dropped 2lb.
Has improved markedly since being fitted with cheekpieces and is bidding for a hat-trick after wins at Lingfield and over C&D. Has to cope with a career-high mark, but looks the one to beat in his current vein of form.
Forecasts
Zafaranah (7/2), Tai Sing Yeh (9/2), Phosphorescence (11/2), Critical Thinking (6/1), Archie (6/1), Energia Flavio (9/1), Island Cloud (12/1), Rock Warbler (12/1), Here's Two (28/1)
Phosphorescence has not got many miles on the clock and tends to run well after a break, something which can also be said of Tai Sing Yeh. Both will do well to cope with CRITICAL THINKING, though. The selection has improved greatly since the fitting of cheekpieces and can complete his hat-trick. Energia Flavio and Rock Warbler renew rivalry and neither can be ruled out, while Here's Two has claims on last year's form and Island Cloud is also respected..
- Critical Thinking
- Phosphorescence
- Tai Sing Yeh
