Dark Angel filly, cost 29,000 gns as a two-year-old. Half-sister to two winners and dam was a winner over this trip. Yard not synonymous with first-time out winners.
Medicean filly, unsold as a foal. Dam a maiden but a sister to an AW winner over this trip. Made little impression on debut and yard saddle a likelier winner in Sheikha Reika.
Well beaten on all three starts to date, including last time in Listed company here, though did show some promise on debut at Newbury last summer. Yard in good form but hard to fancy this filly on return on evidence to date.
Iffraaj filly, cost €150,000 as a yearling. Half-sister to Group 1 winner Persuasive and dam was a Listed winner. Yard can ready one for a debut and market likely to reveal expectations for her on debut.
Dandy Man filly, cost €7,000 as a yearling. Sister or half-sister to four winners and dam was a sprint winner. May need this on debut. Wears an eye-cover.
Holy Roman Emperor filly, cost 19,000 gns as a foal and 30,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to four winners and dam a US winner. May be out of her depth here.
Mastercraftsman filly, half-sister to two winners and dam a winner and half-sister to a Group 2 winner. Showed very little in two starts last year, still looked green on second start. May do better this year but must improve.
Champs Elysees filly, a half-sister to Listed winner Nocturnal Secret and dam a half-sister to Oaks placed and US Grade 2 winner Midnight Line. Makes some appeal on pedigree but may need the run.
Nathaniel filly, half-sister to a winner and dam a Group 3 winner over shorter. Has ran well on both her starts and while she needs to improve, she's been freshened up for this and experience could help her. Seemingly yard's first-string.
Invincible Spirit filly, related to Group 1 winner Charming Thought and dam a Listed winner. Shaped with promise on debut and improved on second start at Newcastle last month. Should progress again and may appreciate the switch to turf.
Dark Angel filly, cost €50,000 as a yearling and 85,000 gns as a two-year-old. Dam a half-sister to two Listed winners. Ran well on debut and form of second run over C&D (third of 11) franked well by runner-up here Wednesday. Wears first-time hood.
Exceed and Excel filly, full-sister to Listed winner and dam a French Oaks winner. A bit green on debut but in good hands here and every chance this well-bred filly will have improved since that run.
Shamardal filly, cost 550,000 gns as a yearling. Full-sister to Group 1 Cheveley Park winner Lumiere and half-sister to a pair of useful winners. Beaten favourite on her latest two starts when runner-up each time but better expected here.
Mastercraftsman filly. Closely related to 6f winner Midnight Dance and half-sister to useful 5f winner Dark Shot. Ran okay on debut but this is tougher and may need more time. Yard had a winner here Wednesday.
Forecasts
Sheikha Reika (5/4), Hula Girl (13/2), Ocala (7/1), Playfull Spirit (7/1), Improve (10/1), Smart Dart (12/1), Private View (14/1), Gilded Heaven (25/1), Princess Harley (25/1), Lady Safeara (50/1), Maid Up (100/1), Angel Of The North (100/1), Midnight In Paris (100/1), Jackie Sparrow (100/1)
It's likely the handicap mark SHEIKHA REIKA has obtained after three runs underestimates her and there's every chance she can put her experience to good use here. Princess Harley has some eye-catching form behind a horse that ran well here on Wednesday and first-time headgear could improve her chance. Ocala is another who can put experience to good use here.
- Sheikha Reika
- Princess Harley
- Ocala
