Hard to fault his record here which has yet to see him finish out of the first two and with a C&D record of 11222. Back from a break now having had his first crack at 5f and should appreciate a return to this trip; still 11lb higher than last win.

Latest win here was a career best with a return to this surface clearly helping him produce his form which now reads 1121 here. The handicapper has pushed him up 7lb for that win so he has to pull out more here but progress can't be ruled out here.

Tough and genuine sort who has shown up well here in a very busy spell of late scoring off an 8lb lower mark a few runs ago. Appeared to look laboured last time though over C&D with a busy spell having caught up with him to an extent.

Makes his stable/Fibresand debut having previously been trained in Ireland where he did manage to produce some useful form over this trip. Handicapped in a generous manner if he takes to this surface (sire has a 10% strike-rate here).

Got right back on track last time to augment his already impressive record at this track (three-time C&D winner) bouncing back from a poor run after a string of seconds. Can look rather awkward but hard to crab his overall effort on Fibresand.

Has a pedigree that catches the eye for this surface and he shaped far better than his debut 6th on Fibresand on his first run for this yard. May well have needed the run and should come on for it; surprising if he doesn't take advantage soon.

Faces a tough task as a three-year-old taking on his elders here making his Fibresand debut off a break. Best run last year came over 6f on testing ground at Haydock but struggled off similar sort of marks in handicaps afterwards.

Forecasts

Tricky Dicky (9/4), Zylan (11/4), Kommander Kirkup (6/1), Katheefa (13/2), Rapid Applause (9/1), Feebs (10/1), Crosse Fire (10/1), Scofflaw (10/1)

Verdict

Hardly any shortage of good Fibresand form here especially over this C&D with both Zylan and Kommander Kirkup having won on their last starts and it’s not easy to rule out either adding another win here. However KATHEEFA shaped particularly well last time off a long break and with that run under his belt he’s taken to record his first win here with that form having already been franked. Tricky Dicky is hard to leave out of the equation given his form here but he might just lack a little sharpness after a break against some match-fit rivals. Rapid Applause is worth watching in the market on his debut for his shrewd and very capable yard.
