Has proved himself highly effective on AW surfaces and handicapper has given him every chance of completing a hat-trick if ready following a four month break.
Landed back to back races over shorter at Gowran Park and he beat a subsequent winner last time who went on to be rated considerably higher. Stable do well on their occasional AW raids and he is one to watch in the market.
Formerly with John Gosden and has been gelded ahead of stable debut. Yet to race on ground quicker than good-to-soft and he may want further.
Winner in lower grade at Lingfield and found this mark just too much last time. Likely to find a better handicapped rival in this.
Landed a couple of races here around this time last season under this rider. Has dropped below his last winning mark and will be better for his recent return.
Joined this yard for £16,000 in January having enjoyed a good summer for Tom Dascombe, scoring twice over 1m4f. Form took a turn for the worse during the autumn and last two runs indicate he is not on the way back.
Landed three races for Paul Cole in 2016 and produced some good runs in defeat last term when raised in grade. Current yard are off to a good start and present mark gives him every chance on AW debut. Sire's progeny handle the surface.
Won a Windsor maiden on debut and has gone close in defeat several times since. Regular hood is removed and she is developing a habit of losing out in close finishes.
Took his first two races of the year and has gone close in better company than this on his last two starts. Blinkers tried now, but mark has gone up again and it is feared there may be something lurking who has been let in more lightly.
Landed a couple of class 5 races last summer which has done nothing for his mark. Has a lot to prove on his seasonal bow and others are preferred.
Versatile AW performer who usually plys his trade in lesser company than this. New yard have got him back to winning ways but a lot is being demanded in this grade.
Forecasts
Kelly's Dino (11/4), Castlelyons (3/1), Count Calabash (13/2), Regicide (13/2), Lawless Secret (8/1), Birds Of Prey (14/1), Jacob Cats (16/1), Great Sound (16/1), Luv U Whatever (25/1), Azari (33/1), Fair Power (50/1)
Birds Of Prey is unexposed and the form of his last win has substance. He may have been let in lightly and he should be watched closely in the market as he steps up in trip. Kelly's Dino and Lawless Secret have been holding their form well during the winter and Castlelyons is on a hat-trick and is relatively lightly raced. Jacob Cats enters calculations having come to hand at this stage last season, but COUNT CALABASH makes more appeal with his stable off to a good start. He failed to win in 2017 having paid the price for a successful 2016. He starts the season on a handy mark and it will not be long before he is making an impact.
- Count Calabash
- Birds Of Prey
- Kelly's Dino
