Signs of ability in four runs at two but proved a disappointment on good ground at Newbury on his most recent outing. Making his seasonal debut today.

Career best effort came when finishing runner-up over 6f on handicap debut at Chelmsford in December. Gelded since and is an interesting runner today.

Fair efforts in two starts on turf last year. Related to a couple of useful performers and worth a check in the market on his first outing since October.

Slowly away when making his debut over 6f at Ascot (good-to-soft) in July. Step up in trip should suit and he is one to note on his seasonal debut.

Ran well to finish runner-up on heavy ground when debuting for Dermot Weld in September. Disappointed since however and making his debut for a new yard today.

Unraced gelded son of Havana Gold and probably best watched from a yard who are better known for their exploits in handicaps.

Unraced gelding by Delegator purchased for £4,000 at the yearling sales in October 2016. Likely to find a few too good on racecourse debut.

Unraced son of Pastoral Pursuits bought for 4,5000 gns at the sales in November. Likely to be of more interest once tackling handicaps.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: A Kirby| T: C G Cox
25/1
Slowly away when making his debut over C&D last month and will need to have improved markedly for that if he's to register his first victory today.

Ruby Cherub
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-11| J: A Mullen| T: Mrs R Carr
100/1
Unraced home-bred daughter of Haafhd and a half-sister to three winners to date. Market support would be interesting for a stable who are 3/10 in recent weeks.

Forecasts

Ateem (13/8), Global Art (5/2), Blackheath (4/1), Faadhel (6/1), Harbour Approach (16/1), Sounds Approving (25/1), Pablow (66/1), Harry From Havana (66/1), Parable (100/1), Ruby Cherub (100/1)

Verdict

ATEEM showed plenty of ability as a two-year-old and he can register his first victory at the fifth time of asking in this novice stakes. Richard Hannon's charge can get the better of Blackheath who ran well in a handicap in the autumn when last in action while Harbour Approach looks capable of finishing third on his debut for this yard.
  1. Ateem
  2. Blackheath
  3. Harbour Approach
