Not disgraced in novice events at Doncaster last year and ran a bit better than finishing position suggested at Kempton latest. Clearly has a bit of ability and goes into a weak handicap on a fair mark, so worth a second look.

Has refound some form lately and followed up a C&D win with another good effort in better company at Chelmsford latest. Track and trip clearly ideal and back down in grade, should be up to playing a part from a decent draw.

C&D winner in the past, running respectably at present and handicapper starting to cut him a bit of slack. Two years since he last won one is the worry, but with conditions fine, may challenge for places.

On a good mark but looks to have lost his way, judging on last two tailed-off efforts at Lingfield and here. First run for new yard offers hope but unless there's market support, can only be watched.

No win in 18 starts is the sticking point, but he's often on the premises in these events, as he was over 6f here last time (beaten a length). Handicapper showing him little remorse and he looks to be playing for places again.

A regular round here, and is another that often runs well without actually getting his head in front. Last win came over two years ago, and despite a falling handicap mark, others make more appeal.

Trip and surface fine, came back off a short break to run respectably at Wolverhampton last month and should come on for it. Nothing wrong with handicap mark and despite a less than favourable draw, is worth considering.

Been around for as long as you can remember, capable sort in his heyday but finds winning hard these days and January 2016 was the last drink at the bar for him. Low-looking handicap mark is a tempter but others preferred.

Winner over C&D last October but 6lb higher today and in general, has found life a lot harder since that win. May be happier in a less competitive race than this and from a moderate draw, has plenty on.

Just the one win in 25 starts, which immediately tempers enthusiasm, but clearly thought capable of better as he was sent off 2/1 favourite for a similar event when last seen. Yard know the time of day, so watch market for a clue.

Pops up now and then but hard to predict when, and recent form suggests he's rather out of love with the game at present. Might get an easy lead here, however, and on that alone, is worth consideration.

Came good over C&D from a 4lb lower mark last December, and came back to something like that form when just touched off here last week. Cheekpieces now added to the ensemble but wide draw a worry.

Refound his form with a vengeance last month, winning a basement grade C&D handicap by almost four lengths. However, handicapper has given him a right kick for that, putting him up 9lb, and this is a better race, so more to do for the follow-up.

Forecasts

Frozen Lake (9/2), Mezmaar (9/2), Coverham (5/1), Runaiocht (13/2), Viola Park (7/1), Sea The Waves (8/1), Clement (10/1), Freddy With A Y (12/1), Mr Mac (14/1), Masquerade Bling (16/1), Light From Mars (16/1), La Isla Bonita (20/1), Peace Officer (40/1), Dear Bruin (50/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these find winning difficult and a few are on long losing runs, so some caution is advised. FROZEN LAKE should be able to get a good position behind likely pacesetters Dear Bruin and Viola Park and can come home strongest to take this. Clement, Mezmaar and Runaiocht looks the ones to scrap it out for places, although any market support for Masquerade Bling needs noting.
