Only win in 19 starts came on the AW at Lingfield. Well held on last three runs and needs more off reduced handicap mark and over this longer trip.

Has been trying his luck without success over hurdles and returns to the Flat with a 0-7 record. Latest jumps outing at Musselbugh last time produced much his best display so he is not without hope.

Unappealing record of 0-7 on the Flat, although only one of those runs has been on the AW. Has not been sighted since finishing third in a handicap in Jersey last summer and is best watched on her return.

Winner of this race a year ago whose last outing was back in August when well beaten at this venue. Runs off 2lb lower and break might have done him good, but leap of faith is needed to recommend him for win purposes.

Broke his duck at the 13th attempt when landing a C&D handicap last month. A 5lb rise makes life much tougher, but at least he is proven at the venue and may be on the upgrade.

Returned to form in a first-time hood when second over 1m at this track recently. The hood is dispensed with, but cheekpieces remain and he has claims off 4lb higher on first start for this trainer.

Quite lightly-raced filly who landed a Lingfield handicap last summer. Returns from a spell on the sidelines, but could have improvement in her and any market support would be interesting.

Ridden by a 7lb claimer when chasing home home Sharp Operator over C&D last time and reopposes on 2lb better terms for a 1¼L beating. Yet to get his head in front, but could make a bold bid to put that right under his experienced jockey.

Has failed to hit the frame in five starts, but did show a modicum of promise at Kempton on his handicap debut earlier this month. Well beaten off this mark last time and needs to step forward.

One of the more experienced contenders with three wins to his name, but latest efforts have been no more than fair. Has won off much higher marks, though, so not one to write off totally.

Nouvelle Eret23
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-2| J: Tom Marquand| T: A W Carroll| OR:  45| CD
7/1
Last of his six career wins came over C&D in February, last year, and he is now 11lb lower. Against that, his latest runs have been underwhelming and his first outing following wind surgery last time was hardly eyecatching.

Forecasts

Tilsworth Lukey (11/4), Sharp Operator (5/1), Lady Of York (7/1), Nouvelle Ere (7/1), Rocket Ronnie (7/1), Street Art (8/1), Forestry (12/1), Rattle On (14/1), Gunner Moyne (14/1), Grecian King (20/1), Cecilator (25/1)

Verdict

Not a race to sets the pulse racing, but SHARP OPERATOR , who seemed to produce a career-best last time, may well be up to scoring again and can confirm the form with Tilsworth Lukey. Bottom-weights Gunner Moyne and Nouvelle Ere would be dangerous off their marks if able to recapture anything like their old form, but a bigger threat to the selection may be Rocket Ronnie, who shaped well at this venue recently. Grecian King and Lady Of York are worth noting in the betting, but Street Art will be hard pressed to repeat last year's success.
  1. Sharp Operator
  2. Rocket Ronnie
  3. Tilsworth Lukey
