A winner here on his first try on the surface, he beat two of today's rivals when winning over this trip despite being slow away. Had dropped in the weights so now has to show that he can cope with a 6lb higher mark on his return here.
Has won here in the past over a furlong shorter and now makes his debut for a new yard with a long losing run to his name. The handicapper has cut him some slack though (last win came off 90) and his new yard have been known to do well with their new recruits here.
In fine form lately winning his last three starts here, progressing well each time but has to step out of 0-60 grade. Given 10lb rise for latest win and has to step back to 7f (last three wins over 1m) but given recent progress can't be written off.
After a couple of disappointing performances on here he's really blossomed under today's rider on his last two starts here over 6f overcoming a 10lb hike in the weights last time. Has to overcome another rise here and a new trip but remains of interest.
A three-time Fibresand winner he's only once run over this trip finishing 4th with all his wins coming over shorter trips. Has a run style (finds plenty for pressure) that suggests he'll be able to operate over this trip but does need to find a little more form than of late.
Was unbeaten here until finishing to Mister Music here recently having travelled well throughout that race. Her record still reads well here though and given the turnaround in the weights she should be able to go close again here today.
Needs very little introduction around here having won here 11 times with seven of those wins coming over C&D. Not the most consistent though and often follows a good run with a poor one and his last two runs here have been poor (off the bridle early on in both).
Scored on his initial run on this surface but hasn't quite managed to follow up that run in three subsequent starts here. Ran well below that debut form here over a mile last time and even with the slight drop in the weights looks opposable for now.
Hard to fault his form here over 6f which reads 11222 with two of those defeats coming by very narrow margins. He now tries 7f here for the first time with his two runs on turf at 7f having been unimpressive; looked a little awkward last time and this trip gives some doubts.
The only one in this field that hasn't run on the surface before she makes her Fibresand/stable debut here. She did show some reasonable form for Tim Easterby last summer but hasn't looked the most straightforward on occasions and may need this run after a break.
Consistent sort on Fibresand having won here four times (2/11 over C&D) with the most recent C&D win coming on his penultimate start off a 7lb lower mark. He's actually hit the frame now in his last nine starts and should go well again although this is a tougher grade than usual.
Didn't need to be at her best when winning a weak claimer here on her last start for Richard Fahey over this trip. Has struggled for form in three starts for her current yard and despite the falling mark is best watched fir now.
Forecasts
Sooqaan (7/2), Angel Palanas (9/2), Kommander Kirkup (5/1), Mister Music (6/1), Treaty Of Rome (8/1), Queens Royale (8/1), Monks Stand (14/1), Best Tamayuz (14/1), Zoravan (14/1), Aguerooo (20/1), Alpha Tauri (25/1), Powerful Society (33/1)
Plenty of Fibresand form on show here although quite a few of these have shown their best form over shorter or in a lower grade and have to prove themselves now. Both Angel Palanas and Sooqaan are progressing and have taken well to this surface but both do have to do a little more than they have of late and find some further improvement. Kommander Kirkup has been wonderfully consistent of late here but his 7f form isn’t anywhere near his form over shorter while Best Tamayuz has to show more to keep up his record of hitting the frame. Mister Music looked good here last time out when winning but there was an element of the pace collapsing and it may well be that on the revised terms QUEENS ROYALE can get back to winning ways having travelled very well over C&D last time when she lost her unbeaten record at the track.
- Queens Royale
- Angel Palanas
- Mister Music
