All three of his wins have been over 6f at Wolverhampton, though he has run well in defeat here several times, including over C&D from 2lb higher in 2016. Sees out 1m, so trip no problem, though needs to bounce back after three modest efforts.

Yet to win a handicap, but went as close as he has come when beaten just ½L into third in modest Wolverhampton handicap last time. Has run well here in the past and a repeat of that last effort would give him claims.

Moderate form, but has been making minor gains. Produced her best effort to be less than 3L behind winner over 1m½f at Wolverhampton last time on handicap debut. Will need another step up on that to pick up some prize money.

The best of nine moderate performances so far was when a 3L fourth at Kempton (6f) from a mark of 50 last August. Below par over today's trip in two starts since then and needs to improve.

Dual 6f winner at this venue, including as recently as a year ago from a 12lb higher mark. Has once gone close over 7f, but majority of efforts over this far, including in four of his last five races, suggest that he is best watched.

Modest maiden whose best effort last year came in a 5f Chepstow handicap (soft) when 4lb higher. Comfortably held in all starts since, including two most recent runs after a break and 4lb drop barely looks sufficient.

Best handicap effort so far was his first one, at Southwell (6f) almost a year ago. Not been close to that level over 7f/1m in three starts since. Drops 6lb today and if he could recapture his best form then you couldn't rule him out of the money.

Began handicapping in December when last of 12 over 1m at Wolverhampton and has twice weakened quickly when stepped up to this trip since then. Now dropped 8lb to basement mark, but nothing of encouragement from a punting perspective.

Best effort so far was on debut here (5f) last May. Handicap mark looked stiff enough prior to recent debut in this sphere at Kempton and 14L defeat underlined that. Back here and with a 3lb drop, she may do better.

Not too much by way of encouragement from her first two runs in handicaps over this trip at Wolverhampton and Lingfield. Drops 4lb ahead of her first attempt here, but another for whom it take a leap of faith to see her making an impact.

Forecasts

Tasaaboq (4/1), Stopdworldnletmeof (4/1), Mossy's Lodge (5/1), Innstigator (5/1), Harvest Ranger (5/1), Runthatbymeagain (10/1), Encapsulated (10/1), Mimram (12/1), Little Miss Tango (20/1), Sunset Bounty (50/1)

Verdict

Basement level stuff here and perhaps the most solid option in a race to tread carefully is MOSSY’S LODGE, who ran well in a similarly poor race last time and may be good enough back at a track that he acts on. Tasaaboq has been out of sorts lately, but a return to form should see him get competitive. Little Miss Tango and Innstigator may also have a say.
  1. Mossy's Lodge
  2. Tasaaboq
  3. Innstigator
