Has been transformed of late wining his last three starts all over 5f with two of those wins coming here in very smooth fashion. Travels very strongly in his races and needs delivering late; carries a penalty here and has a leading chance despite an awkward high draw.
Makes his debut on the Fibresand for a yard that have a decent record here and his breeding gives hope that he'll act on this surface. Not seen since September though and may need this first run since then having won off 2lb lower last summer.
She offered very little on her first run for this yard on her Fibresand debut and hardly fared any better when returned to Tapeta last time at Newcastle. Has slipped below her last winning mark but does have some questions to answer.
Remains a maiden and makes her Fibresand debut here having run well below form last time out when ridden too aggressively at Lingfield. Often makes the running but does need to settle better to be seen to full effect.
Has won over C&D off a 3lb higher mark and may well of needed the run over the same C&D last time when he shaped better than his final finishing position. That run came in much better company and he's one to be interested in here with that run under his belt and he has had wind surgery since.
Only one win on the Fibresand but generally runs consistently here over 5f but he's still above his last winning mark. Has a big weight pull with Something Lucky on their last meeting here but the feeling is that one is improving fast and won with plenty in hand.
Had three quick runs including a debut win over C&D on her last three runs for David Evans the win coming in a maiden. Now running off a much lower mark than when last tried in a handicap here but hasn't figured that well in two runs for this yard despite the reduced mark.
Often seen around here and recorded his last win over this C&D although that may have had a lot to do with the reduced mark. Certainly hasn't been in the same form since in three runs and despite that last win he's arguably better over 6f.
Dropped into a very lowly grade and off a basement mark when winning at Newcastle over 5f on his penultimate start. Ran poorly last time out though and despite being placed on Fibresand has never really looked at his best on it.
Took a while to get off the mark when with her former yard scoring over an extended 5f at Bath in the summer. Shaped well enough on her first run for her new yard after a break and could be of interest if she takes to this surface.
Dual winner over 5f last year on turf (soft both times) but only has some moderate form to his name here. Ran poorly over 6f here last time out off a three month break and this will be more suitable but not one to go overboard about.
Career record reads 0/26 and has shown no sign of improving that record in two runs for this yard having previously been with David Evans. Makes her debut here on this surface and has plenty to prove even in this grade.
Forecasts
Something Lucky (9/4), Grand Myla (5/1), Dapper Man (6/1), Coiste Bodhar (8/1), Archie Stevens (8/1), Archimedes (12/1), Kingstreet Lady (12/1), Novabridge (14/1), Fly True (16/1), Nuzha (16/1), Celerity (25/1), Knockamany Bends (33/1)
This opener to the card probably doesn’t look as competitive as the numbers suggest and Something Lucky must have a real chance of carrying his penalty and completing a four-timer here although he does have a tricky high draw to negotiate. ARCHIMEDES ran well here last time though and shaped better than his final finishing position having looked as though he needed the race and he’s won off higher marks in the past. Archie Stevens generally runs well here but isn’t progressing and there may be more interest in a couple of Fibresand newcomers Dapper Man and Kingstreet Lady.
- Archimedes
- Something Lucky
- Kingstreet Lady
