Both his wins on Fibresand have come over this mile trip and although the last win came off a 6lb lower mark he has shown that he can cope with a mark like this. Ran well in a far better grade than this last time out and a repeat of that would see him go close here.

The losing run continues to mount for this one although he does have course form that reads 432. His last run here though over C&D did explain a lot about the losing run though as he travelled well before rather throwing things in at the finish; one to take caution with.

One of five course winners in this contest he's shown some of his best form of late on Fibresand with his C&D form reading 213. The win came from a 6lb lower mark but he has run well enough off this mark since and given his last run at Lingfield may well appreciate a return to this surface.

An 11-time winner here he took this race last year to record one of his two C&D wins although that victory did come off a 10lb lower mark. His form of late has been its usual mixture of hit-and-miss (miss last time out over 6f) but he could well just bounce back here.

Positive tactics always appear to suit him best and he had no problems with the shorter trip on his debut on Fibresand last time. Despite finishing third he didn't really look as though he was ready to win and others looks stronger in this.

Previously seen to good effect around here (won on debut on surface) and appreciated the drop in grade to selling company when regaining the wining thread on his penultimate start over 7f here. Stepped up on that run last time with another 7f win off 5lb lower and now tries to gain his first win over a mile here.

Was back down to his last winning mark when bumping into a progressive sort over 7f here on his debut. Hasn't matched that run in two starts since (both at Wolverhampton) and now steps up to a mile for a second try on the Fibresand.

Has won two of his last four starts here and has a decent record overall at the track (winning here five times) and is at his best in a well-run race. His last win came off a mark of 65 though and he looked to struggle off this 7lb higher mark last time out.

A winner on his debut on Fibresand he's never really followed that run up here especially when he was a well beaten favourite in this last year. His two runs back from a break on the AW haven't really suggested that he's back to anything like his best though.

Made all to win twice on turf in October/November at up to a mile on heavy ground and has been placed here the last twice over C&D. May well have just needed the run last time over C&D off this mark and dangerous if he was to be allowed an easy lead again.

Forecasts

Mach One (10/3), Count Montecristo (6/1), Muqarred (6/1), Majestic Moon (8/1), Zaeem (8/1), Mr Christopher (8/1), Break The Silence (8/1), Alpha Tauri (11/1), Zoravan (12/1), Monsieur Jimmy (16/1), Planetaria (16/1)

Verdict

Plenty of winning and placed form on display in this finale and it form a complex betting puzzle which sees Alpha Tauri bid to follow-up his win in this last year from a 10lb higher mark and if he’s on a going day he could well go close. Both Mach One and Majestic Moon should appreciate this surface although the latter isn’t the strongest in the finish. Zaeem goes well here but this trip may just stretch him and MUQARRED who ran well last time out in a better grade is given in the vote in the hope that he can repeat that run and go one better here.
