Had some good form on turf in the spring in handicaps. Lost way subsequently and then given a break before latest midfield 7f run at Dundalk. Interesting he travels here rather than again going to that venue and handicap is very workable.
Very useful two-year old form including second in the very valuable Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar. Showed next to nothing in two starts this winter but blinkers added and handicap now fallen enough to be of interest.
Three-time winner in France but at up to 1m2f. Not seen since unseating rider last summer and starts out for new yard over surely inadequate trip.
Now just 1lb higher than C&D win in October. Two starts since have been disappointing but can't be dismissed given handicap mark and cheekpieces are now added.
Returned from near four month absence when making all over 7f here earlier this month. 4lb rise makes life harder but perhaps he has been refreshed by the break and won off same mark over C&D in February.
Generally competitive albeit without success lately but does almost all of his running over 5f and generally appeared a non-stayer when tried over 6f in the past so the trip a big worry.
5lb lower now than when a close fourth here to Danecase over C&D in October. On that form he would be a leading contender but poor efforts last twice at Chelmsford make it hard to be enthusiastic.
Close thirds in last three starts including over C&D latest. Handicap stays the same keeping up the pressure but again a good each-way proposition.
Won over 5f at Wolverhampton before narrowly beaten latest at same venue over 6f. Upped 2lb by the handicapper for next run so is 2lb well in today and has a big chance.
Forecasts
Hamish Mcgonagain (5/2), Very Honest (7/2), Art Nouvelle (9/2), Varsovian (5/1), Juan Horsepower (7/1), Danecase (15/2), Whirl Me Round (25/1), Zipedeedodah (25/1), Helis (40/1)
HAMISH MCGONAGAIN is in great form and is 2lb well in here so looks to have an excellent chance. Varsovian is certainly a threat and will have no problem dropped back to 6f. Art Nouvelle is interesting as Joseph O'Brien's lone runner today and he must be considered too.
