Consistent type although he looks hard to win with and his most recent two starts haven't been filled with much promise. Finished 3rd over C&D on his only previous try on Fibresand and needs to find something extra here although he is dropped in grade.
Not seen out on the Flat since when he was with David Evans and has been raced exclusively over hurdles since then for his current yard. Yet to win on the Flat and now tries a new trip on a different surface although his sire does have a near 20% strike-rate here.
Took a while to get off the mark on Fibresand but did so at the 10th attempt and his second at this trip in first-time blinkers taking advantage of a much reduced mark. Did plenty wrong when winning here last time out but still managed to win and now 5lb higher.
Previously with Charles O'Brien in Ireland she was fairly lightly-raced showing only modest form including in two handicaps. Off the course for over two years before making her debut for this yard over 1m6f on turf (faded late on) and this run may reveal more; has run over hurdles since.
First-time blinkers off the back of a break appeared to spark him up on his turf debut at Bath when winning off 53 (1m2f) having the run of the race. Hasn't really been able to build on that and his last two AW runs have been poor; now makes his debut on Fibresand.
Managed third on her first try over C&D and ran one of her better races last time out off a 2lb higher mark but demonstrated why she's only recorded one win. Looked rather awkward and reluctant in the finish and could be one to handle with care even in this grade.
Still rates a modest maiden despite being placed five times in 2016 although her form hasn't been as good this year (beaten in sellers/claimers). Finished well held here last time out on her first attempt at this trip and others make more appeal.
Recorded her first win when scoring a surprise win over 1m6f at Redcar in August 2016 making all and holding on well. Hardly seen at all after that and returns from another break here having been well beaten on the AW twice and this will be her Fibresand debut.
Appeared to show what looked to be her first form when 4th on handicap/Fibresand debut back in August over 7f. Tried over a mile last time here and lost his place quickly and finished well beaten and now steps up in trip again; one to have doubts about at this trip.
A record on the Flat hardly makes him a bet compelling proposition and even though he finished 4th last time on his debut on this surface he finished well beaten by Star Ascending. Hard to see him reversing that form and likely to maintain his maiden status.
0/10 on Fibresand and looks to be getting more and more difficult by the race. Has been very slow away on most of his recent starts and virtually refused to race on his penultimate outing; one to be wary of.
At his best on this surface but he's looking fairly modest these days despite the fact that he's a three time winner here. All his wins came some while ago though and although he's well handicapped this trip is a new one and it's a long time since he showed that sort of form.
A fair handicapper in the past (won his only handicap of a mark of 72) when with Richard Fahey/Brian Ellison he's regressed markedly for his current yard. Offered little on his recent Fibresand debut and hard to give him a chance even off this lowly mark.

Star Ascending (10/11), Dream Serenade (5/1), Tred Softly (10/1), Ochos Rios (12/1), Just Fred (12/1), Pantomime (12/1), Jennies Gem (16/1), Mamnoon (20/1), Quadriga (25/1), Never Say (40/1), Port Lairge (50/1), Madame Mime Artist (50/1), Clayton Hall (66/1), Kazoey (66/1)
Very few solid options in this low-grade handicap and it may well provide an opportunity for STAR ASCENDING to follow-up his recent C&D win despite the 5lb higher mark. Dream Serenade has proved that she can act on this surface but looks far from straightforward while Tred Softly needs to find some form having run poorly of late although he did finish third over C&D on his only try here. Ochos Rios hasn’t run here before and it takes a leap of faith to support him but he faces some fairly limited rivals in this and he along with the mare Pantomime may be worth taking a chance with in a race that will take little winning.
- Star Ascending
- Ochos Rios
- Dream Serenade
