Just about his only good runs for this yard have come over this C&D, including a win in October, but he has finished down the field in three runs since, including at this course last time, and others are preferred.
Won a better race than this at this course a year ago (over 7f), but hasn't built on that since. Interesting to see the addition of blinkers and eye shield, however.
Won two novice events as a juvenile, but no win since and has been running a fair way below that level for some time. Down another 2lb but still has plenty to prove.
Yet to really get going for this yard. Slightly better effort the last twice but still looks fair way off being good enough to beat some of these, especially off his current handicap mark.
In fine form recently including a defeat by only a nose over C&D last time. 4lb higher now in a better race but represents a progressive option and could improve again.
Narrow C&D winner last time and up 3lb as a result. This is a tougher contest though, and he needs to produce his best effort in some time in order to figure.
Makes his first start for this yard having put in fair efforts when trained by Karl Burke, but not proven over this trip and most recent effort was less encouraging.
Fared okay in maidens at Chelmsford, but has shown little in three handicaps since and no reason to see that changing here on her second start for this trainer.
Has run well on her last two starts and remains on the same mark here. Only win to date came in a 7f Lingfield maiden (AW), but has looked better over similar trips to this recently. Also engaged Sat 18:15 Wolverhampton.
Beaten a long way into last at Newcastle last time when dropping back down to this trip, and has plenty of questions to answer in first-time headgear.
Progressive gelding who has won twice over C&D in his last three starts. Up another 5lb now, and should be capable of going close again with his winning jockey from last time keeping the ride.
Was 6lb higher when last winning on the AW, but that was back in 2014 and his last two efforts in particular have been poor.
Managed some good efforts here towards the end of last year, including over C&D, but off since and may well need the run on his first start of 2017.
C&D winner in a maiden handicap last time out. This represents a more challenging assignment, especially carrying a 6lb penalty (and an extra 1lb as she's out of the handicap).
Forecasts
Dellaguista (9/2), Mach One (5/1), Medici Moon (11/2), Shearian (6/1), Sonnet Rose (8/1), Shamrokh (10/1), Sterling Silva (10/1), Best Tamayuz (12/1), Dubaitwentytwenty (12/1), Showdance Kid (16/1), Captain Revelation (20/1), Gone With The Wind (25/1), Muqarred (33/1), Dubai Waves (50/1)
Not many of these appear to be progressive, but Mach One and MEDICI MOON are two exceptions. The former has gone up a lenient-looking 8lb since October and could well come on again here, but narrow preference is for Scott Dixon's representative. He appears to get on well with Luke Morris on the evidence of his last run, and has two C&D wins to his name at a course where that can be a particular help. Dellaguista may not turn up here having been scheduled to run at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening but is another who has been running fairly well recently.
