Two time winner over the summer off much lower marks than this, has struggled off an increased rating and in tougher races since but a 4lb drop will help and he could find more for the step back up in trip.
Has run some fair races in tougher contests than this, yet to add to a maiden hurdle win at Sandown last season but this could be his chance to in a first time tongue-strap.
0/3 for this yard so far but ran a great race in a better contest than this at Carlisle last time when clearly enjoying the step up in trip. Goes off the same mark here and needs considering carefully.
Well-beaten on handicap debut at Hexham last time out having improved in novice/maiden hurdles. Needs help from the handicapper before being a genuine option.
Won on stable debut at Chepstow in April (over shorter) but unable to build on that since, including in a similar race to this at Sandown last time.
Only career win came over C&D, slughtly disappointing since but has been running okay recently in better races than this. Could hit the frame in this company.
Has made a fair start for this yard, denied only a nose off 3lb lower at Market Rasen two starts ago. This is tougher, but he has won at this level in the past.
Dual-purpose type whose only win over hurdle came in December 2015. Form in Flat handicaps over the summer has been okay, if decidedly unspectacular.
10lb higher in the handicap than when winning well at Fakenham last time and has been pulled up at Plumpton since. Needs to prove the handicapper isn't now in charge.
Won a nice handicap hurdle at Sedgefield in March 2016 but has only had four races since and has largely been disappointing. Back to the same mark now but revival needed.
Forecasts
Sumkindofking (4/1), Paddys Runner (11/2), Fixed Rate (7/1), Top Ville Ben (7/1), Utility (7/1), Wolfcatcher (8/1), Pot Committed (8/1), Just Milly (8/1), General Mahler (12/1), Zulu Oscar (14/1)
A fairly open-looking affair, where it may be worth siding with PADDYS RUNNER. Beaten only a nose at Market Rasen on his penultimate start, he didn't enjoy the best passage round at Sandown last time out, and has won at this level and off just 1lb lower in the past. He is therefore taken to see off Just Milly, whose only win came over C&D and has looked promising in better races than this recently, and Sumkindofking, who has had plenty of chances to add to his sole success over hurdles so far but should find this easier.
- Paddys Runner
- Just Milly
- Sumkindofking
