Well-bred individual who was well held but not knocked around on his debut at Nottingham and looks capable of better possibly in the longer term.
Held back by his inexperience on debut over a mile at Nottingham on heavy ground and faces a very different test here. Would need to take a big step forward to take a hand.
Well backed in a better race than this at Ascot in July on his debut over 6f he showed ability but failed to see the race out. The form looks useful (first two won next time out) and he's clearly thought capable of better on Fibresand debut.
Cost €44,000 as a two-year-old with the dam a winner over a mile from a yard that have had a good season and sent out a winning newcomer here recently. Worth a check in the market given his background and pedigree (sire has good record here).
Half-brother to a couple of Fibresand winners who makes his debut on the surface here after two runs both of which showed promise. Needs another run for a mark and could well be worth keeping onside for handicaps after this.
Started at 200/1 on debut recently and showed very little. Now makes the switch to Fibresand but hard to recommend on what he's shown so far.
Not a typical juvenile from this yard having shown much more than usual on his first two runs and remains open to improvement having finished runner-up last time. First try on Fibresand but does have dirt relations in his pedigree.
The most experienced in this field having been placed on three of his eight starts. Remains to be seen how much improvement (if any) remains as he makes his debut on this surface and another placing could be the best he can hope for.
Given three quick runs in the summer (all at Doncaster) over 6f-7f showing only modest form and makes her Fibresand debut. In all probability it will be low-grade handicaps that will suit her better.
Forecasts
On The Warpath (4/7), Zabaletaswansong (11/2), G Eye Joe (13/2), Dawn Dancer (7/1), Iron Sky (14/1), Jackpot Royale (16/1), Desert Wind (25/1), Thundercloud (50/1), More Harry (100/1)
Like the first division of this novice stakes none of these have any experience on the surface so once again it makes for a difficult punting puzzle. On The Warpath looks the obvious one especially with dirt winners in his pedigree but the it may well have been significant that G EYE JOE was well backed and fancied for a far better event than this at Ascot in the summer; form that looks strong. His trainer usually knows what it takes to win on here and he’s given the nod to get off the mark. Iron Sky is worth a look in the market from another yard that do well here while Jackpot Royale is one to keep in mind for handicaps after this run.
- G Eye Joe
- On The Warpath
