Makes her debut on this surface (sire has a 17% strike-rate here) having won off a 5lb lower mark at Wolverhampton. Looked rather unlucky when a well backed favourite at Lingfield last time (not clear run) but could be better drawn and that may tilt the balance elsewhere.
Not an obvious sort for a test like this having looked temperamental in the past and the losing run has started to lengthen. This will be his initial try on this surface with the cheekpieces back on; sire has a modest record here and others make more appeal.
Her handicap mark continues to fall without that aspect having much effect at all and she was well held on her last start. Blinkers now go on for the first time on her first start on this surface with her breeding screaming she will be suited by Fibresand.
Has a patchy overall profile but has already won twice for this yard and took well to this surface when winning over C&D last time out in slightly lesser grade winning in emphatic style. Same headgear combination retained here and may have more to offer off a 6lb higher mark.
No stranger to success around here (5/27) and although easy to back here last time over C&D did catch the eye. Now back below his last winning mark and likely to be better for that last run and of interest in this.
Out-and-out front runner who may not find the draw in stall 1 ideal although he has won here three times in the past. 5f here last time was a little on the short side (race likely to be needed) but he remains above his last winning mark.
Dual C&D winner who was well backed here last time out over 5f but ran a very moribund race not showing much spark at all. May well show more back at this trip but does appear to be in rather a fallow period at the moment despite the falling mark.
Sire has a modest record on this surface he doesn't look an ideal sort for the surface coming here off the back of a run at Yarmouth (6f) when well held. Can be slow away on occasions and pull hard and either of those traits make him a risky proposition here.
His recent standout effort came over C&D in October (defeated Tasaaboq) winning easily in what was a weak contest. Struggled to build on that run in two subsequent starts (one over C&D) and this mark/grade may prove beyond him.
0/8 on this surface but has been placed three times here and clearly acts on it although only at a modest level. Raced over further at Chelmsford last time (not seen to best effect) but is often slow away and another place may be his best hope.
The losing run continues to grow although he is starting to look dangerously well handicapped (last win came off 64). Not quite showing enough at the moment to be confident about but does act on the surface and the market may tell the story with him here.
Two previous efforts here have not shown him to be at his best on this surface after he has ended a long losing run at Carlisle earlier in the year. His one decent run since has come at the same venue and hard to construct a case for him here.
Makes his debut for a yard that have had plenty of success on this unique surface (sire has a modest record here). His latest run on turf was only moderate and he comes here after a break; one to watch in the market.
Has a fourth to his name on his only start here in a maiden on debut (started 25/1). Still yet to win a race but did hint at a slight revival last time over further (a mile) at Newcastle last time; comes from a shrewd yard and one to note in any market moves.
Forecasts
Kaaber (5/2), Zenovia (5/1), Tasaaboq (11/2), Fortinbrass (8/1), Borough Boy (12/1), Bingo George (14/1), Kensington Palace (14/1), Coiste Bodhar (16/1), Ypres (16/1), Llewellyn (20/1), Kommander Kirkup (22/1), Oh So Dandy (25/1), Sir Harry Collins (50/1), Mad Rose (100/1)
Quite a few in this that can be given a chance on their best form and are starting to look well handicapped and amongst that group would be Coiste Bodhar and Borough Boy although both need to come back to their best. Zenovia was unlucky last time but this is her debut on this surface and both Kaaber and FORTINBRASS are preferred here. The former has to show that he can cope with this mark while the latter is no stranger to winning here and will be better for a run here last time out. Both Sir Harry Collins and Kensington Palace are worth watching in the market for support given their shrewd connections.
- Fortinbrass
- Kaaber
- Kensington Palace
