Not seen since a 10½L fourth over hurdles at Doncaster (3m1½f, good) this time last year, so has fitness to prove. Half-brother to a chase winner, so may be able to do better over fences and his best hurdles form suggests scope from this mark.

Has been unable to add to his debut bumper success of 2014, but put in a decent effort in context on his chase debut at Bangor (2m4½f, good) in June and didn't get home over 3m2f last time. Interesting now dropped back in trip and 3lb in handicap.

Got off the mark over hurdles with a 15L Lingfield success (2m7f, heavy) in March from a mark of 89. Ran well after a 7lb rise at Chepstow when last seen and up a further 5lb for this chase debut. Market check suggested to gauge confidence.

Made the frame over 2m3f (soft) over hurdles at Fontwell in January, but well held in all three starts since. Has chasing success in his pedigree and may do better now starting out over fences from what looks a workable mark.

Doesn't look to have been the easiest to train with just four starts in over two-and-a-half years. Well beaten in all three hurdles runs. Now makes chase debut in first-time hood from a mark that looks no gimme from what we have seen so far.

Her best effort so far was on debut over hurdles at Fontwell last year, though she wasn't too far from that over fences here over C&D (soft) last time. Needs to raise her game from same mark today, but that is not ruled out.

Maiden after 16 starts, though made the frame on five of those over hurdles, all at Plumpton over 2m-2m1½f. Dropped 3lb here but fitness, chasing ability and stamina are all for him to prove now jumping fences for the first time today after a break.

Broke his duck over C&D last time (soft) when a 6L winner from a 6lb lower mark. Has to enter calculations simply because of that, though is likely to need some improvement to back up that success. Claims.

Moderate hurdler who made the frame on his Bangor chase debut in spring 2016 from a mark of 86. Returned from a lengthy absence when pulled up over C&D earlier this month and has plenty to prove after he went out like a light that day.

Yet to win under rules and made the frame just once when trained in Ireland in a Cork maiden hurdle (3m, heavy). Pulled up both starts over hurdles for this yard and now dropped 12lb going into this chase debut with a lot to prove.

0-21 under rules, though he did make the frame, albeit it in very modest company, on three occasions over fences (2m5½f-3m½f) earlier in the year. A 3lb rse still leaves him 5lb 'wrong' at the weights and fitness may be an issue after a break.

Forecasts

Becauseshesaidso (2/1), Touch Screen (7/2), Point N Shoot (9/2), Oakidoaki (8/1), Church Hall (10/1), Gowell (12/1), Kavanaghs Corner (14/1), Sir Hubert (16/1), Bobonyx (33/1), Goodnightirene (50/1), Rising Tide (50/1)

Verdict

Very poor fayre on offer here and the suggestion is to side with BECAUSESHESAIDSO, who goes into this following a handy 3lb drop in the weights and is therefore interesting over what appears to be his optimum trip. Point N Shoot has to be considered after a win around here, though he is creeping up in the weights, while Gowell and last-time C&D winner Touch Screen after others considered.
  1. Becauseshesaidso
  2. Touch Screen
  3. Point N Shoot
