Not hard pressed to win over C&D on debut and at least matched that form when a good second under a penalty at Newbury. Major player back at the venue of his debut victory.

Last of 12 on debut at Lingfield, but defied odds of 100-1 to win over C&D last time. Should not be underestimated even though this looks a tougher contest.

By Sixties Icon out of a Cockney Rebel mare. Looks one for the future on breeding and likely to need the experience on debut.

Gelded son of Rock of Gibraltar who fetched 15,000gns and is from a winning middle-distance family. Made a pleasing debut when second of seven at Salisbury and should kick on from that.

Quiet debut at Newbury before showing improved form to finish a close third over C&D last time. Getting the hang of things and can get involved.

Has shown a fair level of ability in starts at Goodwood and Newbury. Needs to step up again on this switch to the AW and is perhaps one for handicaps after this.

Cost €10,000 as a yearling and is a Dandy Man gelding out of a 1m AW winner. Stable going well, but it will be surprising if this debutant is not wiser for the outing.

Placed over 7f at Yarmouth and this track, on the latter occasion making most of the running. Should be in the shake-up, but needs to find a little extra.

Fair degree of promise in both starts at Nottingham and now switches to the AW. Has a middle-distance pedigree and is likely to be seen to best advantage when tackling such trips.

Stepped up on fair debut at Newmarket by finishing fourth of 10 at the same track, not beaten far. Both his runs have been over 7f and he races as though this extra distance will suit. Chance if taking to the AW.
Champs Elysees filly who cost only 5,000 gns as a yearling, but is a half-sister to four winners. Nice enough pedigree, but will probably be better for this debut outing.

Led for quite a way on debut at Lingfield and improved on that when fourth of nine behind Blue Mist over C&D. No obvious reason why she should turn the tables.

By Yeats out of a Nashwan mare, she is bred to stay well and this trip is probably her minimum requirement on debut. Probably one for next year.

Savaanah56
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: S De Sousa| T: R Varian| BF

Clear signs of promise in starts at Leicester and Goodwood, both over 7f. Breeding suggests the step up in trip will suit and she is is respected for leading connections.

Forecasts

Blue Mist (11/8), Tanseeq (11/4), Victory Chime (6/1), Savaanah (10/1), Icart Point (16/1), Is It Off (16/1), Canimar (20/1), Bodes Well (20/1), Indiscretion (33/1), Pepper Street (50/1), Pilgrim Soul (66/1), Paddy The Chef (100/1), Enchanting Enya (100/1), Billy Star (100/1)

Verdict

Quite a few promising sorts in this, including Savaanah, Canimar, Victory Chime, Tanseeq, Icart Point and Bodes Well. Clear preference though, is for C&D winner BLUE MIST, who shaped well against slightly better company last time and should take this if he can get across from his wide draw without losing too much ground. Fellow C&D winner Indiscretion should not be underestimated, while Pilgrim Soul is worth keeping an eye on with a view to the future.
  1. Blue Mist
  2. Canimar
  3. Icart Point
