Has only really seriously gone close in one of his eight races to date but encouraging to see him stepped back up in trip in the change of headgear; holds minor place claims.

Well-beaten in two starts so far including when dropped to this trip at Windsor last time out. Needs to find plenty of improvement for this switch to the AW having run to a similar standard in both races.

Well-beaten in two maidens so far and even with this looking like potentially a weaker race he is still a highly unappealing prospect and others are much preferred.

Equiano colt who was sold for £1,500 before failing to sell as a two-year-old. Yard has a fair record in AW maidens for a smaller operation, with two winners from nine runners this year.

Finished second four times last year before being more soundly beaten on his sole outing so far this year in May. Off since but still of interest now returning to the Polytrack in a first-time hood.

Finished down the field in an AW maiden when trained by Simon Crisford. That was in January and with the absence since he has too many questions to answer.

Unlucky not to have gotten off the mark yet having been beaten by a neck or less three times, with all three of those efforts coming over 6f on the AW. Draw not ideal but top AW jockey may be able to negotiate it.

Three fair efforts in maidens so far. Interesting to see connections persisting with this route (on first run for a new trainer) now she has a handicap mark but should still come up short in first-time tongue strap.

Beaten 25L into last of the seven on debut at Chepstow in September when not particularly fancied in the betting. Has it all to do to get on terms with the best of these on that form.

Off since April when not beaten far in a selling race at Leicester, but showed improvement from her debut run there and could be a player here if the time off since doesn't hinder her chance.

French import who makes her first start for Hugo Palmer here on British debut. Collected some nice form in France (including on AW) despite remaining a maiden and may find this to be a slightly easier assignment.

Hellvelyn filly, a half-sister to a few winners but representing a yard which doesn't do particularly well with its horses first time out.

Forecasts

Temeraire (11/10), Port Isaac (5/2), Trotter (5/1), Canadian Royal (14/1), Amenta (20/1), Irish Sky (20/1), Dilinger (25/1), Jakeboy (33/1), Divine Messenger (100/1), Sanches (100/1), We Win (100/1), Cymru Lady (100/1)

Verdict

British newcomer Temeraire is of obvious interest based on what she achieved in France but such horses don't always manage to transfer their form to this country, especially early on, an preference is for TROTTER. This gelding has been beaten by a neck twice, and once by a short head, with all three of those defeats coming over this trip on the AW (including one on Polytrack). He doesn't have the easiest draw but Luke Morris is a good jockey booking to negotiate that and his mount looks a winner in waiting. Port Isaac is another who has filled the runner-up spot on numerous occasions and should also be considered.
  1. Trotter
  2. Temeraire
  3. Port Isaac
