Won here over 1m in January but stays this trip well. Arguably likes Lingfield a tad better than here but very capable at this level and certainly worth checking out when the betting starts to warm up.
Won second of four starts for Amanda Perret but two starts since being gelded only modest. Now with a new yard, the three-year-old needs to up his game a tad and may be best watched until showing a bit more enthusiasm than last time.
All winning form has been achieved at a mile, so stamina a bit of an issue - best effort over 1m2f when a modest third of six at Lingfield in February. Did make ground up late over 1m4f latest, so there is hope. Check the market first though.
Well handicapped if the first-time visor can do its job and keep him focused. The hood certainly had little impact when tried here in August, so a lot left to trust in the application. Others more convincing.
Recently gelded and back on a winning mark, so indications connections haven't given up on him yet. Latest effort was poor though and big improvement is now required.
Not won for two years but bits and bobs of recent form entitle him to go close in this company. last week's third at Nottingham being a particularly solid piece of form. Big player in able to reproduce.
Seems to have settle well after two decent efforts for his new yard. Possible he's got more to offer over this trip and not unduly burdened at the weights. Interesting for a place at least.
First try over this trip but ran an encouraging race latest, so feasibly can improve now stamina is being out under the spotlight. Worth a betting check.
Form figures probably flatter him, as evidenced with a sluggish effort at Leicester in October. That did come in slightly stronger company, however, so he could very feasibly figure if he puts his mind to it. His inconsistency if off-putting though.
Posted a promising effort on handicap debut last November but has failed to build on that subsequently. Admittedly, she doesn't have many miles on the clock but makes her debut on this surface, so might just be better for the experience.
First thing to note is the yard sending out a filly stepping up in trip. Second would be interest from the betting ring. Has gone well here but past form does suggest she would be one of the more risky gambles if supported though.
Forecasts
William Booth (3/1), Choral Clan (5/1), Miss Mirabeau (5/1), Maraakib (6/1), Dangerous Ends (8/1), Intermodal (8/1), Mullarkey (10/1), Never A Word (16/1), Auntie Barber (16/1), Miss Danby (25/1), Bartholomew J (33/1)
This could go to MARAAKIB, who is hitting form at the right time for a race of this nature and will be a tough one to keep out of the frame at least if repeating last week's effort at Nottingham. Choral Clan also makes plenty of appeal back on the polytrack and looks a viable alternative, while William Booth and Never A Word may be able to scrap it out as the best of the rest.
- Maraakib
- Choral Clan
- William Booth
