Both AW wins have come in lower grade than this, but is 2-5 on the surface, including a win here. Performed well in Listed company at Sandown in the summer (1m, good to firm) and entitled to improve from recent Newmarket run off a break.
Consistent AW performer but has found winning extremely tough lately, gone 26 without scoring on artificial surfaces now, pushing overall record to 5-39 on AW. Competitive from higher marks than this in that winless sequence.
Has faced some tough tasks in pursuit of black type and has now gone 19 races since her last win. Really should be competitive off this mark returned to AW (4-9) and with first-time blinkers on.
Filly won a maiden at Chelmsford in September over this trip, held since in handicap at Windsor back on turf, but has run well in both visits to this track previously, including this trip, albeit in maiden company.
Not had a straightforward time, with 409 days between her first two runs but yet to be out of the front two in three maidens, justifying odds-on at Wolverhampton latest over 7f. Couple of lengths clear of Kitty Boo at Chelmsford previous to that.
Maiden winner over C&D in August but unable to land a telling blow back here last month in handicap of this rating having been supported. Improvement called for, but could be forthcoming on just a fourth start.
Form of her Lingfield maiden has worked out well with the second and well beaten third both winning since. Has been too keen on both starts since but has obvious chances if getting a decent pace to race behind.
Winner over 7f at Wolverhampton in March off a mark off this mark in Class 5 event, string of substandard efforts since however and hard to fancy on that evidence.
Forecasts
Kitty Boo (2/1), Considered Opinion (4/1), Lucy The Painter (9/2), Express Lady (6/1), Influent (7/1), Bint Dandy (14/1), Tai Hang Dragon (14/1), Lady Lydia (33/1)
LUCY THE PAINTER has run in strong contests in pursuit of some black type and as a result is on a long losing sequence. She has also dropped to a very workable mark however, and has scored at this level from 4lb higher in the past. She gets first-time blinkers for this AW return and it might be worth taking a chance that she can bounce back today. Considered Opinion is noted now going handicapping for the first off a win at Wolverhampton while C&D maiden winner Influent could also have more to offer. This longer trip could bring about better from Express Lady, especially if there is plenty pace on.
