Changed hands for €100,000 guineas as a juvenile, held in both starts so far, including C&D debut in September. Should be plenty more to come.

Has been slow to get moving in both turf starts so far, both over 7f at Newmarket and York. Work to be done if hoping to get competitive.

Beaten favourite in turf maidens at Sandown (good to soft) and Leicester (good) over this trip either side of a summer recess. Shaped well enough but more called for on AW bow.

Declaration of War colt cost 60,000 gns as a yearling, is a half-brother to several winners, including useful 7f winner Shebella. Notable newcomer.

Run better than market expected in both starts so far, latest being close third of 11 over 7f (good to soft) at Redcar last month. Up in class now for AW bow, may improve again.

Nice-race maiden, often tried in lofty company. Essentially a bit disappointing in a mile maiden at Dundalk last time, may fare slightly better over this trip. Rare excursion to this track for trainer (0-1).

10,000 gns yearling who has been gelded. First foal of an unraced dam who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Energizer. Yard not known for juvenile winners and well held on debut at Yarmouth over this trip.

Cacique filly, cost 47,000 gns as a foal, resold for 180,000 gns as a yearling. Makes solid appear on paper and represents leading connections on debut, respected.

High Chaparral filly who is related to a couple of winners at around this trip, well beaten on debut at Chelmsford over 7f recently having never really got into the race.

Ocala26
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-0| J: David Probert| T: A M Balding
11/8
Daughter of Nathaniel who is from a successful family, made a decent start last month at Nottingham (6f, good to soft) when runner-up and doing best work at the finish. Likely player in this field if taking to AW.

Forecasts

Ocala (11/8), George Villiers (3/1), Medal Of Honour (5/1), Compulsive (10/1), Launceston Place (12/1), Labrega (12/1), Cristal Spirit (16/1), Mesquite (33/1), Glorious Army (66/1), Pass Mark (66/1)

Verdict

OCALA made a pleasing start at Nottingham over 6f last month, doing her best work at the finish. She promises to improve and this longer trip may assist, while the one that beat her is now a Listed winner, further boosting her solid claims. George Villiers has twice been a beaten favourite already, but should be winning before long while newcomers Labrega and Glorious Army are worthy of attention. Compulsive has been well enough held in both starts but will surely offer more before long.
  1. Ocala
  2. George Villiers
  3. Labrega
